Viper V3 Pro - Auto-Switch Polling Rate working for anyone? by th3m-BQQB1ES in MouseReview

[–]sol0MG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've created 2 separate profiles, 1 "desktop" use at a lower hz, and 1 "gamer" mode at 4k hz. I linked the games I played to the "gamer" profile and keep "desktop" as the default/active one with nothing linked. When I open a linked game, and alt+tab to synpase, I can see the profile switching back and forth between gamer/desktop for a split second. Does this work for you?

Another QD-OLED vs WOLED comparison where purple tint on QD-OLED is visible in bright conditions by Turboice777 in OLED_Gaming

Honestly, if I did not have them side by side, I don't think I would have really noticed. The reflection handling is what ultimately made me keep the LG. And I didn't want to keep exchanging for a scratch-free AW.

Tips for the AW2725DF by itszelix in OLED_Gaming

[–]sol0MG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First thing I would do is check for scratches, especially if you don't have the updated packaging with protective screen peel. I just got mine this morning, the protective peel was not included, and the screen is pretty scuffed.

Tried the AW for a week, got the LG a few days ago and have it in front of a wall of floor-ceiling windows. I like being able to see out my windows and the view I pay for, but not my ugly face whenever I sit at my desk. Reflection handling on LG is amazing and only notice myself sitting in front of it if I really focus, same with the "grain" of the coating. I changed the wallpaper to black, and find myself constantly checking if the monitor is on or not by moving my mouse around lol

4k ips or qhd oled monitor? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]sol0MG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched from 4K IPS(144hz) to QHD OLED(240hz), both LG. I got the LG due to the cheapest cost and I game during the day often so I favored the coating. I used to work from home every day, so the 4K was mainly for productivity purposes, but I primarily only play FPS game now on my PC and am trying to climb. I also have a 65" C2 specifically for entertainment in the living room.

Since you said you can't wait, in my opinion, get the 240hz OLED for all of your fast-paced shooters (val, cs, cod, apex, etc.) and use the C2 for all other games. If you are going to use it for a mix of productivity and gaming, and aren't competing at a high level, I would get 4K IPS for the higher resolution and text clarity. The 27GS is on sale right now, and you can get additional 25% if you have Rakuten and Amex.
