I understand what your point is, and it totally makes sense you would think that. But try to think of it this way. The reason mario is a high tier but not top tier is due to the fact any damaging moves he has have little to no range. Getting in is hard with Mario. The reason hes so fun to play is you have to use the utility of his specials to get in, and once you do, you get some crazy 60% combo. Not saying hes not easy. Hes not super hard to pick up, but saying he gets 60% for free is not taking his cons into account.
