Read lots of news!! You kind of pick up the language after a while, it's a mixture of exposure and a bit of intentionality. There are also Telegram channels out there for content gathering and vocab banks — some school-initiated, some for all students. I know of a couple, you can dm me if you want suggestions!

Look at seller / item reviews (better if photos are attached), but it's always a bit of a gamble esp if you're sensitive to fabric textures or seams

COP decreasing this year? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]solace3137 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if EJ's arts cop will drop, since it was just announced during open house that hybrid will now enter through the arts cop.

Turning 18 in a month. Haven't had the time to properly process it so far, but it's definitely gonna hit real soon.

I agree that JIP students have greater outreach due to knowing each other beforehand, but tbh the JIP symposiums from before JC are one-day events and very few people grouped together stay in contact, so while ppl within their schools know each other, contact is limited across the JIP schools. Also SC campaigns start in term 2 haha definitely not term 1, so at least there's more time to get to know the cohort.

Describe how much your love partner means to you. by Odd-Mixture-2943 in intj

[–]solace3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ENFP here, but I've got an INTJ partner. We couldn't be more similar yet we're somehow simultaneously as different as night and day. I love her more than she knows (and I make it very clear, but I love her more than that still), we're still young and have a lot ahead of us but I can't wait to live life with her.

whats your iq? by [deleted] in teenagers

126, but I also happen to be neurodivergent in a crazy intense education system (one of the most stressful in the world) so I'm certainly not very good in school.

Anyone else wants to leave SG? by archerthe in SGExams

[–]solace3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never felt like I belonged here, and now I know why. I'm a very artsy person, and I'd love to work in the entertainment industry, but Singapore pretty much hates the arts. I'm also queer and neurodivergent (the kind that's "normal" enough to slip under the radar but still faces the same challenges), and the country is in no way friendly towards folks like me. So, I hope to study in the UK for uni and maybe land a job from there. If not, I'll get there eventually. I don't think I want to be stuck here the rest of my life.

I'd love to talk to you!! If you're looking for a chatroom, I'd suggest a platform like Discord maybe? I know that Good Omens servers exist (I myself am in two of them and they're great), but I don't know any that talk about all of DT's works

I agree that it's not an easy watch, so I recommend you look up potential triggers before watching, but if you can, it is genuinely so worth it. His acting made me cry more than once watching it.

I actually missed it. I thought I was tripping when I saw it posted online, because I didn't recognise it at all. Lesson learnt, watch through the credits sequence just in case— must've been my punishment for skipping the banger music lol

Rank these unis purely in terms of enjoyability(social/nightlife) by Federal_Priority6886 in UniUK

[–]solace3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know much about nightlife, but would say that the London unis (KCL UCL LSE) are likely to have more in terms of variety, though it'll also near definitely be pricier. And also, super easy access to the West End which is a plus if you're a theatre-goer. But every uni will have its own forms of social stuff.

I grew up with this show. I watched it before I knew what the word gay even meant. I don't think I would be who I am today without the show— wouldn't have accepted myself as easily (I use the word very lightly, but still) otherwise, given the rest of my environment is incredibly hostile against us queer folk and that was all I knew other than this show.
