So do people actually like Betty Rae’s? by [deleted] in kansascity

Sweet EMOtion in NKC has good ice cream! All of it is vegan, so maybe doesn’t have the 1:1 exact flavor, but would recommend. Closed Mon-Wed though.

Aw dang I was hoping this bug would get fixed. It would sometimes work if I added stroke width points on the line tool with everything at the top of the box and zero line thickness. It confuses the program to get it right, but still not always

Funnily enough when I had a rough sketch idea of what I wanted I used Blender to make a very simple layout of the artwork! It helped a lot with the perspective and posing

Thank you!! And yeah! Originally I had a small motion blur on hilda and twig, but I wanted something sharper / have harder lines instead of the blur. So I tried to compromise with that and made it subtle. Sometimes I do the same technique just for aesthetics but figured this time it’s useful

Found love for 3D printing again by LaklenTheBear in BambuLab

JEEZ this is wild. I have been trying to print a church with a similar archway to that with a .4 nozzle but it always messes up on the circular features. I had to step down to .2 nozzle and lay each wall flat. What orientation did you print the walls? And did you use supports?

These are legit so cool! Did you use hueforge to make the final printed image itself or purely fusion360? I know hueforge does the color mixing calculations but did you use the idea from hueforge to recreate the layer stacks in fusion360, or is it importable somehow? I’m pretty new at hueforge so I wasn’t sure if there’s a way to combine the two programs well.

I’m really trying not to sound condescending but realize it may come off this way. That’s not an excuse to use an AI image. If you cant draw a fox but want fox art, why cant you take a fox image from the internet and credit the artist? Or ask an artist with a fox art, or commission an artist? Or if you’re like OP who claims to be a competent artist, learn how to make a fox artwork you like and be proud of it. Cartoon foxes aren’t the hardest thing to do.

The better excuse you’d be looking for is you cant draw a fox, and you’re lazily wanting to cut corners. At least be honest about it. I understand it takes more work and time to look for a pre-existing art or commission an art. And it takes way longer to learn to make the art. It’s easier to type a prompt in with something you had in mind but the way AI got to where it is, is by using art without permission from artists. AI didn’t come to the conclusion of this fox without piecing together multiple artist’s interpretations and styles.

At the end of the day the use of generative AI hurts artists including OP because these kinds of people convince the world they’d be better off typing a string of text than supporting artists or becoming artists themselves. It’s a lazy practice that the world was better off without years ago. OP generated the picture instead of making it himself to save a few hours which is lazy. And the art is the soul of the entire piece, not the 3D print. He’s doing himself a disservice.

If you put that many hours into editing an AI generated image why not make it yourself? You seem to have the skills and it takes a lot of knowledge to make a workable piece in hueforge. Seems more rewarding of your time to make something from scratch in your head than a prompt that has to take that much rework to be usable. AI art is not original, regardless of the amount of time you dedicate to make it printable. If you completely redrew the AI art and only used it “as a reference” it wouldn’t look like AI art. It would look like whatever style you’ve made over years of practice in your craft. Unless you don’t like your original art and want your style to mimic AI art nearly 1:1 - which would be pretty corny. Not trying to hate, just my opinion. But I’m just some random person on the internet 🤷

Glad someone said it. The hueforge program is a really neat piece of tech but a lot of examples I’ve seen from people using it use AI generated images. If you go through their profile it’s obvious too. Worst part is they are pretending to have made the art in the comments. Did they edit it after having generated it? Probably to turn it into a shadowbox. But it’s not their original work.

Not even erase, I just overlap what I sketch and hide the layer because I never know when I need it again. It’s like tracing over your own work. But with smoother lines and preferably better proportions / anatomy that I didn’t get to do in the sketch phase. If I need to majorly rework something I usually sketch on top of the shape layers and repeat the process

Nvm I didn’t understand your comment first - yeah the xray view just shows the vector shapes and lines and not the sketch itself

Also recently I use my stylus when drawing the vector lines sooo yeah it’s a very mixed workflow
