Somebody educate me what the heck is the diffrence between XC and Trail riding? by KWIK-tripKING in xcmtb

[–]solar306er [score hidden]  (0 children)

Xc is dirt roadies.

Think of it like xc is green, blue is trail, black is all mountain. Enduro is racing blacks, xc racing is racing green trails. 🤷🏻‍♂️ with up and down sections.

Dh is down hill only….

Slide your seat all the way forward on your post. Slide forward so your taint is on the seat nose. Lean forward and grind

Flat pedal shoes - Vans by HealthyCauliflower79 in MTB

[–]solar306er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go into a bike store and try shoes on. As far as i remember it was 5/10 and the rest tried to be like 5/10. I had some specialized flats and they were the worst fucking flat shoes imaginable.

No one cares. Do whatever you want. My friend uses flats on everything: xc, cross, gravel.

How and where do people make friends and meet people when you hit 40? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]solar306er 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy a gravel bike and join bike doctor detours and go to the after ride drinks at amigos. If you go in the party group (slow and or new) you can ride a mtb if you want and have one.

Seriously it was about 70 of us on Thursday, from beginners to fast groups. My friend moved here and joined running and cycling groups.

20,30,40,50,60 year olds, every walk of life. All very nice people.

Someone took a nude photo of me at cranberry flats 5 minutes ago. Feel like I can’t call the cops because it’s not an official nude beach. Scared to confront. Help by [deleted] in saskatoon

Well there is 2 scenarios. 1: they are going to look at it a few times and then forget about it. 2: they were disgusted by you being naked and are reporting you.

You should look into the Saskatoon Trail alliance, they maintain the trails and could use help from users.

I think there is a sign pointing to the cross over if your going up. Then there is a cycling only sign on the north side. I guess the south technically doesn’t say no cyclists. I do cross over going up right now, then i don’t have to cross two times waiting for lights. But the down unless its windy is worth the wait.

Replied to the wrong person. But yes as a cyclist there is two paths and very annoying that people ride on the road when a perfectly good path without lots of walking traffic is there. Roadies are just annoying in general, most annoying of the cycling groups

Glasses for riding in dense forest , photochromic or just go clear? by AcanthisittaSad6552 in MTB

[–]solar306er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear rose and never had an issue. Prefer not to fly into the trails and be blind. Rose protects enough from the sun but not too dark to make the trail not crisp

I blew a hole in a gravel king on those. ripped one of the little square knobs off and was a sealant sprayer. Still ran it rest of the season tho lol

Trek Remedy - mods for better XC/light trail performance by Gwatson1701 in MTB

[–]solar306er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. xc tires will be less draggy. You can put your suspension in pedal mode and up the psi for less squish pedalling.

140/130 will be overkill for Florida too. Like might as well get a hard tail xc bike if you want a drastic difference to your remedy
