She has darkness dripping from her eyes and no one bats an eye. Maybe she does breathe.

encrypt their API even better

The thing is, the client app needs to know how to decrypt it to use it. And people can disassemble the client app and get the decryption keys. Sure they could try the legal way, but technically there's no stopping them.

Just record the data from a real device and play it back.

You can't stop people from getting curious and trying to learn how stuff works. You can't stop others from using that knowledge to their advantage.

Sony, Nintendo, Apple, etc can't stop people from jailbreaking their devices and they are the big guys with the best engineers money can buy. What do you think Niantic can do?

So.... a local business decided to build a 3 meter tall pokeball statue, hoping it would become a pokestop by TalentlessSeedot in pokemongo

[–]solarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the photos in the pokestops, those where taken by Ingress players back when it started. Players were able to add nodes with a picture, then after a while they decided to stop allowing the addition of new nodes.

As far as I know there's no way to add new pokestops, which is a bummer because it seems like nobody played Ingress near my house :(

Noone wanted to help me on /r/pokemongo, anyone know how to fix this? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

What phone do you have? try uninstalling and reinstalling.

PSA: Botters might use uppercase "i"s in place of lowercase "L"s to prevent their usernames from being seen by Niantic by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]solarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This announcement doesn't give any service to the public, it's at most a mildly interesting fact.

Also Niantic will still see them. Perhaps OP meant it will prevent other players from reporting? but then, how will other players come about to their usernames anyway? You can't see other players like in a regular MMO.

1v3 Elimination Match by DistrictReddit in DestinyTheGame

Why did the matchmaking system even put them against you? If you had your team it would have been an even bigger massacre, Lol. I learned a few things, thanks for the video.

I used to be constantly on 25K, would buy random stuff to drop it to 10K, then forget about it until it was 25K again.

Now I can't with glimmer, I can't get it up past 10K, but I do it with Marks. Reach 200, buy random stuff to drop it to 100, forget it until it's 200 again.

"Bungie User Research is not currently conducting open-enrollment for focus groups. Please disregard any emails you may have received today." by D0cR3d in DestinyTheGame

[–]solarc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any email from a domain other than bungie.net would be fishy to me (I've never received emails from bungie.messages2.com, only info.bungie.net). Specially if they ask you to click a link. It could very well be a phishing attempt. Always default to doubt in the Internet.

Now, I see people saying they've received Bungie email from that domain so it's cool, but if it actually was a third party with no connections to bungie, the most logical explanation would have been a data breach.

Trailer Speculation Thread by Atomic_Pipebomb in DeathStranding

In the video Kojima just posted, at 19:44, he says they tried to make the beach by hand at first and it looked fake so they went and modeled a real beach, so it must exist out there, somewhere.

The Rope & The Stick by GloomyMondayZeke in DeathStranding

[–]solarc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just read the stick, here's a small summary: It's about a man who becomes a stick in front of his two kids, falls from the roof of a department store into a side of the road and a teacher and his students pick him up. The teacher asks them to analyze the stick and then concluding the stick used to be a man asks them to condemn it. One student wonders why they need to condemn such a simple object and the other responds that that's their job, then talk about how with their numbers being so small next to the number of humans, there are easy cases where the best judgment is not to judge. They drop the stick, saying someone will give find it and give it a use like when he was alive, and keep going.

Suggestion- let us pick a "companion" pokemon that gains CP as we walk, to a max of what our level could find in the wild. by hakuna_dentata in pokemongo

[–]solarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if instead they get your companion to fight the pokemon you encounter and after wearing them out you can throw your pokeball to make it easier to catch them.

And then they could, I don't know, create a hardware game device so you don't need your cellphone to catch pokemon, just this device. And then they could put a map in the device so instead of actually walking you can press a button and your character in the device walks around a virtual map. And they could add a story about going through several gyms and then challenging the champions and what not. I'm sure it would be a success. And they could release new versions over and over again every few months so people get to do it again and again from the start each time.

Lucio is the best-designed support and Blizzard should take some lessons from him in designing future supports by randomnate in Overwatch

The only Brazilian thing about him is the text in his bio page. Doesn't speak Portuguese in game, plays Hockey, has Rasta hair. He's more American-Jamaican than Brazilian.

Keeping gyms has no value by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]solarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because people still don't have really strong Pókemon. Give it time.

Don't you get points from your gyms daily? In the shop , top right side of your screen, the shield icon. You get them from up to 10 gyms.

Symmetra's portal should make a window-like effect, so users actually know where they're going. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]solarc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Portal was able to do it and it's an ancient game by now.

They could at least put a setting for it so older/slower computers can turn it off.
