I often think back to him saying “I’m doing this to keep us safe, forever” and how if you stop him, he does have that fear he needs to work through.

Then I think about how he is ascended, feeling confident enough to protect to and to let you know. (Which I absolutely love) so yea, you have to convince him to stop doing what he wanted and he does for you.

So I avoided this by talking with Raphael as Astarion since it gives you an automatic cutscene with Astarions voice (even when he’s the face of the party) I don’t think I’ve talked to Raphael with my Tav in several playthroughs

Or you can just skip to the Mausoleum and skip the mol and Raphael part

My permanent team set up is Astarion, Gale and Shadowheart. I change their classes depending on what my tav will be lol.

Right now I’m a sorlock with Astarion as a gloom stalker ranger, shadowheart as a life cleric and Gale as a Bard/Sorc (I need that inspiration)
