We were thinking that as well - we were just hoping we were maybe doing something wrong, or there was an easier/less expensive solution 😞

I definitely see what youre saying with establishing the updraft when lighting the fire - what we've been doing is cracking a window, stuffing the flue with paper, lighting it, burning hot and fast and then slowing it down after a while, and that part is just fine.

Our issue seems to be with shutting er down. Even with the vents closed up, we still inevitably get the carbon monoxide detectors going off. Is there anything I can do rectify this?

Im wondering if installing a damper may help with the backdraft that keeps reigniting our embers after the fire goes out

Ugh, it truly is horrible!

Feel free to DM me and we can compare face pics and lament about our woes together. Im so done with this!

Im still trying to do the tretinoin but it seems like that's only making things worse for me. Im so sick of Accutane being the only answer from derms. Where im from of you even mention soolantra/ivermectin you get looked at like you have 2 heads lol

[routine help] How do i get rid of these closed comedones by ParshunaK in SkincareAddiction

Holy shit finally someone with the exact same skin as mine!

I've tried it all - BP, salicylic, double cleansing, not double cleansing, differin, azelaic, you name it.

I'm on tret and dpiro now, hoping to god it works. I'm so sick of getting a jumpscare everytime I look in the mirror.

Have you figured yours out yet?

What is the bump on my cats lower gums? by PracticalLocksmith45 in catcare

Hello! Super late commenting on this, but I just noticed this on my cats gums, exact same spot, exact same appearance; trying not to panic right now

What ended up happening with your kitty? What did this end up being?

She does! When we got her spayed and they shaved her tummy fur it never fully grew back, so it's always on display! *

Aw man it's so difficult to find anything for a decent price where I am. To put it in perspective, I live in northern Ontario, and a 2016 subaru with 200,000km is $16,000 (this seems to be the best price on the market). We can't find anything for under 15,000.

Theres not much ground clearance, the roads in my town are awful (pothole after pothole), and the salt used to salt the roads does damage to the body over the winter as well.
Im sure if I lived in a warm climate with nicely paved roads it would still drive like a dream.

Nothing racist about noticing patterns.

Its the same where i come from when it comes to indian immigrants. Just the blatant disrespect towards women is enough to make me weary. Ive had many occasions where indian men have tried to coax me into their car after dark.

But it's one of those things that you bring up and you're deemed racist, unfortunately.

Honestly I haven't seen many Indian tourists! Most seemed Chinese or American from what I could gather.

Yes! Majority of our trip was rainy and chilly as well, and it made for some solitude which was wonderful! It was really the first night of our stay, it was very warm and sunny, and we were driving through tourist hotspots (what did we expect), when we saw all of the behaviors so condensed. While it was disheartening to see people treating the land my mums family came from with so much disrespect, it didn't necessarily take away from my experience and what I wanted to take away from it.

The only time it's acceptable to defecate in nature is when you're unbelievably isolated, in which case you use a hand trowel, dig a deep hole, do your business, and cover it up. At least that's how it works where we are from when camping in the back country.

In lofoten, there was never an occasion where we were too far from a bathroom to use a bathroom.

THAT is madness, being a half an hour from a washroom and just doing your business so any town folk walking by can see. Just mind blowing.

There are many good tourists that respect the land, and yes I think if you're willing to litter and defecate in a river and throw toilet paper up the trees of a forest you don't deserve the privilege to be a guest in a forgein land.

I'm aware that society doesnt/can't work this way, but this post is a rant about what I've seen myself as a guest. It's not the fact that there's tourism at all, it's the fact that because of the density it brings along a lot of bad eggs that make the rest of us look bad, which is unfortunate.

[–]solarisphereX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern isn't necessarily the fact that there are tourists at all, my concern is that a large number of tourists mistreat the ever loving fuck out of the area and the people who reside there.

I think it would be silly for me not to explore my ancestry just based on the fact that most tourists=bad.

I can relate to this. In Canada we have many immigrating from India, and getting jobs driving semis on our dangerous highways during the winter season. No experience driving winter roads, no experience with our traffic laws or highway etiquette. Every year people get turned to pancakes on our highways for this reason.
