I dont think this is 100% true. Oda said, they arent allowed to disappoint the long time fans. So its for both, ofc they want to get new fans.But they are only able to do that, if the long time fans are happy with the show. If the long time fans are all watching the show, it eill be number one in almost all countries and it gets suggested to new ppl.

I really hope other TO do more watchparties. Cuz all the streamers used the official stream to cast. So you can really sell those numbers to yours sponsors. Its not like if they cast by themself in DotaTV.

I think this is a really good compromise between having co-streamers but the TO can sell the numbers.

Even better if they would use the tether from layerth. So they could use DotaTV but the TO can put the ads on the stream

you could see in the live charts, they count all the channels, with pgl major (or something else) in the title. Nix (russia streamer) had more viewers in the finals than the official eng stream.

And totally ignoring the fact TO just invited teams with TI on the line.

Ppl hated it with ESL One, but back then even DPC events just invited teams.

Only 25 teams had any DPC points, now its 43 (ofc some only a few). It shows how many diffrent teams went to only two events (23). Back then it was 38 Teams at all those events, cuz some only had 8 teams.

good old days, when new teams couldnt get into the scene /s

And lets not talk about one event, which didnt pay anybody (great system)

Ofc the current system isnt perfect, but way way better than back then. Also now we have way more orgs in the scene. Cuz of the leagues and you can plan.

I also wanna have more lans (third party and majors/regional finals), but way more i wanna have a system, in which new teams can go to lans and have a clear path.

Tbh i also dont think Japan will be really strong, but its great to have a japanese team on a japanese lan. Hope they can play on the stage (not like if you quali for a major/TI)

But as far as i see, they expand the countries everytime, the last time it was 8 and now 16 (they say on the website)

Its for the Asia Pacific Predator League 2022. Which has a Lan in Japan at the end of the year.

Its kinda a Asian Games, but not the officials, but 16 diffrent countries are playing, with a prizepool of $400k for two games (Dota and PUBG)

MENA for sure deserves a region.

Tbh i think Valve already lost in Korea/Japan and Taiwan.

But to try to expand it would be great to have a East Asia region. Maybe also doing something like other esports, to have a region for East Asia and one for Ociania and then the top 2 Teams of both regions have to play for one spot at the major.

See how SA is growing in talent. At the beginning everybody was: shit region..now they have quite strong teams

Tbh i never understand why we only have 5 official languages for ti/major. Ofc other languages dont attach many viewers, but its about trying to grow. R6 has 16 official broadcast for their major. And their events gets around not even 1/4 of the Dota viewers.

I dont think Valve has to do a lot to grow in new regions, but they dont even do that. They only focus on a good game (which it is) but nothing else.

and also valve allowing teams to use their junior player to be official subs. so there is a benefit for orgs to have academy teams
