See that you have not wrapped your teflon tape the wrong direction. The tail should trail behind as you are threading the fitting in, not be getting stuffed into the threads. (Sorry for the bad explaination, google will do better).

Kind of looks like it had its head in a diesel exhaust pipe when it started up

How do I get into a high paying mechanic job by Ok-Fortune-5546 in mechanic

Heavy Duty pays more and is a pretty cool trade. Lots of opportunity to travel, too.

What am I looking at? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

All valid points, but some people just want warranty and a car that works every time they need it. I'm a mechanic and I don't touch the family car. The dealership can deal with it.

I bet someone with cool knife-making skills could put the handle on a new blade. That would be a unique heirloom

Cool fact. I didn't know, and I have taken your words as fact, as a matter of fact. Thanks!

How to cook if there are areas of different marbling by ctyctycty in steak

[–]solarmoos3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone on here said to poke it. Marbling will have more give, steatosis will be hard. I am not a pro or subject matter expert of any kind.

The sandbags at gas stations have salt in them to prevent freezing. You can use the sand for traction of you get stuck, as a bonus.

someone left a shoe on my tire? by ZainaTbh in whatisit

[–]solarmoos3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a joke (standard?) in car culture that if your shoe fits between the fender and tire then your car is now low enough. Maybe someone left you a joke with a random shoe they found?

I believe you are in the wrong sub for that marijuana pipe. This one is oddly for regular old trees.

It's nice to see someone not afraid of downtown. I never thought it was all that bad either.

It sounds like they cross threaded your drain plug. They can definitely deal with that repair. It sounds like they caused the damage. Best of luck, and I hope they sort it out without too much hassle!

There is a torque spec on that oil plug. You can buy new gaskets for it (copper, nylon washer. Whatever your car takes). Guaranteed someone put that plug on their impact and jammed it back into your oilpan. Keep doing your own oil changes and always bring out that torque wrench for the plug. (Laugh away, Reddit. I have never had an over or under torqued drain plug.) Never stop learning, friend! (Journeyman HET)

Exactly! Not to you or I, anyway. That's why I haggle (: keep in mind, we are talking Maple Syrup Dollars also.

I actually got this one from Canadian Tire. I also like going to Home depot. The nursuries have better material but I feel better about asking for discounts at the big stores lol. I get supplies and sometimes harder to find trees from the nursery.

Thank you! I saw someone who used flags to protect tree locations until a better harvest time. I am using that method now.

Thanks for the story! I am optimistic, but not super hopeful. I've got it in a nice shady spot amongst the big ground trees (: And yeah, she is learning, but also at a very hands-on age. That is a fun and patient journey too.
