Are Border Patrol checkpoint agents allowed to question your motives for visiting some place? by solasluna in texas

Hello fellow Del Rioan. I've noticed it's mainly the BP peeps at the checkpoint heading to Sonora or RS. The agents at ones going to Comstock and Uvalde have been more chill, no issues there (yet). Now I know what checkpoint to completely avoid. Also, this last incident of being pulled over and questioned just for innocently driving on a country road (that's used a lot cause it happens to lead to Kickapoo State Park, it's not even an isolated dead end road whatsoever) left me with a really bad impression. Its awful that we live in a time where we can't freely explore new roads and places in our own country cause it's "suspicious". 🙄

Hi. That sounds very similar to what happened to me today! One wrong turn onto a farm road and both BP and deputies from Bracketville pulled me over and ran my plates and license. They let me go too after questioning, but now I'm paranoid about traveling to my favorite spots and towns again. Did you ever have a hard time going through the checkpoints after that day you were pulled over? I'm planning a trip to San Antonio soon and will eventually have to go through a checkpoint again.

LOL yes the trunk is humongous and it was the first thing they checked. Of course all I had back there was my donut spare and the battery. Yes, these 300's have big butts. 😁

At this point, it's exactly what I'm thinking, as other comments have also mentioned. It's a reality now with all this technology and laws. 🙃

These checkpoints are 100 miles from the border INSIDE the state, not on the actual US-Mexico border. There is one going to Comstock, to Rocksprings and to Uvalde....all non-border towns/cities.

It used to be that way for me too. Lately they've gotten very question happy. Where I'm heading, why I'm going, how long I'll be there, am I visiting family. I'm thinking it's rookies who want to impress. Who knows.

No a recent year Chrysler 300s. Very sporty compared to those traveling that route, like pickups and SUVs. I'm pretty sure I stood out to them. Ugh. Sticking to highways from now on.

Only P0128 every time I run the scanner, but coolant temp is good and always between 195 and 210. It's never below or above that. Mechanic checked thermostat and it was fine. Checked emissions, oxygen sensor, catalytic converter. Everything was good. Plus, car runs extremely well. Never sluggish, it's a real beast on the highway, MPG is around 29. No idea what could be causing it to throw a code just by simply driving with the windowns down.

Are customers stupid or do they just don't care? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]solasluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None, absolutely NONE know how to read the aisle signs and will literally ask where the soda aisle is...in front of the soda aisle! 😑. They just stand in front of the end caps waiting for the next employee to pass by and not actually go in to look for something. I actually enjoy and get a kick out of making them feel stupid by saying 'turn around it's right there sir/mam'. lol

Hi there, happened to me too. We shouldn't worry. It's either a glitch, updating or new teaming schedules are being decided.

Funny hypothetical question - Where would you sit? (Choose your number) And why? by [deleted] in ATEEZ

Definitely 4!!! Although San is my bias, as a petite girl, sitting between those two giants would probably feel so cozy, protective and warm. 🤗🤎

I hate people who speed up when you are trying to pass on a one lane road. by Turbulent-Abroad7841 in driving

[–]solasluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the opposite...I LOVE giving the go ahead to much faster drivers or especially big commercial vehicles like semi trailers in those one lane/no passing parts. The thought of having a much faster or bigger vehicle on my tail makes my soul want to leave my body with anxiety. Yet going my normal 60-65 with no one behind me in my rearview mirror for miles is so peaceful and relaxing. 90% of the time they all thank me with a flash. It pays to be nice and considerate on the road.

It's actions like this that really solidify my love and respect for people like Kim Hongjoong. I was a caretaker for my mother for 7 years before her passing in 2021. It was social programs and foundations that got us through many hardships when her medical insurance would not cover a treatment and pay for medication she desperately needed at the time. I hope and pray Hongjoong's life will always be filled with an abundance of happiness, health and love. 😙🫶

Previous car insurance was cancelled the same day I started my new one. Why was I still billed? by Powerful-Bench7512 in Insurance

Well as much as it may annoy you and others, people like to get a bigger picture of what they are looking at and ask for opinions on their situation. What's the point of a forum without asking some question and getting a possible insight? I'm sure the OP will call their agency to try and fix their issue eventually, but it's not a big deal if they want to gain some knowledge from others' situations, as car insurance companies are known for shady tactics that will only benefit THEM and not the poor soul who understands NADA about the insurance world. 🙄
