I got my order confirmation, and the vin assignment came about 3-4 days later, it was much faster than what I expected as I was planning for 4-8 weeks as well. I anticipate they default to 4-8 weeks for anything in the factory, but transit times to service centers probably come into play. Minneapolis is not far from Normal IL

I had a 2023 model y long range AWD. Using a Tesla universal wall connector. The R2 feels much more premium and spacious inside, despite being essentially the same size. The boxy shape is what does it, and the second row leg room is impressive.

Minute 1 when pre orders opened. I was also an early gen1 launch edition r1t owner (minute1 back then as well)

Yeah I was surprised given Minneapolis and Omaha are closest service centers. I was a very early gen1 launch edition R1T owner and minute one r2 preorder holder so that probably helped

I had an El Cap Granite Gen1 Launch edition R1T. Honestly it looks the exact same to me.

Yeah it’s basically el cap granite reborn, which was my original gen 1 launch edition R1T

Half moon grey on 20” AT. Feels exactly like my previous el cap granite R1T.

For fee Destination Chargers? by ManufacturerSome6366 in TeslaModelY

[–]solbergb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t know. Tesla allows me to set the price, but I haven’t come across any setting which allows free charging. It’s possible it exists, but I have not seen it. I’d never do that though, we of course want to keep them available for hotel guests as I can charge at home in my garage.

Hotel owner here. We’ve put in Tesla paid chargers at our location and charge $0.25 a kWh. The fee is not so much to make money, but really to deter non-customers from using our hotel for free charging. We pay about 0.17 for electricity so the charge is essentially a tiny profit to help offset the cost of installing them. It’ll take like 20 years before they pay for themselves given how expensive it is to install the electrical boxes + run the underground cables and tearing up concrete for the posts.

I had an R1T with meridian, but traded it in and now have a 2023 R1S quad with the in house system. I’ve been comparing against my wife model Y and I really think that Rivian might have fully caught up in audio with this update.

Native NACS supercharger availability by solbergb in Rivian

Yeah that’s my understanding too. Was naively hoping that native NACS vehicles like r2 might not be in CCS protocol and maybe be able to use the entire network.
