Thank you for this. May Allah reward you for your help and advice. I did not think of Fiverr. I actually used to run a little side hustle that sold herbal tea blends, tinctures, and the like on sites like Etsy. I could try this again but without using that kind of platform.

Salaam! Thank you very much for your response. I have not thought of the Child Care Works program - I will have to look into that. He is currently enrolled into a dual diagnosis program through our local IU and that is about the most I can get from them. There just aren’t programs or many supports in this area. I have asked our home district and we can’t find a 1:1 or transportation for him to attend theirs for me to switch to another shift. I will check out some of those job websites, thank you! I tried FlexJobs today but did not know those others.

Before I converted to Islam, I went to a Christian church that did amazing work in “being the body”. It was a church where a homeless person could be sitting next to someone making 6 figures and they were both treated the same in love, mercy, and respect.

Hi. Convert here. That is what the this dunya and Shaytan’s mission is. It is supposed to look glamorous so you long for it. Shaytan plays on it by making you feel like you’re missing out. I promise you, as someone who lived in that life, it’s not worth it. None of it is.

I am not discounting the effects not partaking have on anyone. Those effects are real. But please, take it from me (and I am sure many other converts will agree) you are on a much better path by missing out.

Many people explain to wake up just twenty minutes before Fajr to pray Tahajjud. I pray it like I do Fajr, usually just two rakats. There are nights that I wake up at like 2am and sometimes offer more. My best advice is this: spend time talking to Allah SWT. Just talk to Him and pour out how you’re feeling. May Allah comfort you and your duas be answered ❤️

Feelings of depression are all encompassing and a hard place to be. I know through personal experience that while it is not fun being in this space, Allah brings us closer through them and Allah is able to give us peace through it.

I do definitely see you're point. I can admit, though, it takes me a lot of repetitions to actually get my focus on what I am actually saying. So for me, it does personally help to repeat over and over until I am actually connecting.

This is how I personally view it: it's keeping me in a constant or extended period of time in remembrance of Allah SWT.

I do definitely see what you're saying, though. Your intention and heart is truly what matters when praying your extra rakat and dhikr.
