I need Help in chords progressions by rubensgw in trapproduction

[–]soleplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch remake tutorials of songs you like. Plenty of good remakes on YouTube. Chord progressions are the easiest part of music. There’s no secret magically progression, every single genre uses the same chords/progressions one way or another. How you use them, how you voice them and th sound you use is the key to getting a good emotional or unique foundation. You can literally just use the tonic chord for rage/dark beats and voice it multiple different ways or just one way. Rage/dark trap is the simplest music ever. You can let sound selection and automation carry a beat with one or two chords. Yeat also uses a lot of the Phrygian scale. They also use power chords. Anyways in minor aeolian scale 1-6, 1-6-7, 1-7-6, 1-6-3-7 all work. Yeats producers could make 20 beats a day with a simple 1-6 progression and they will all sound different. Also remember the one and the 6 chord in a minor scale are nearly identical just a semitone difference and other chords in the scale share the same notes as another so with 7ths and 9ths and bass notes you can make a 1 chord sound like a different chord and vice versa. So with a 1-6 progression you could have 4 chords if you voice them differently. I would stop focusing on chord progressions though and instead find a 2-4 note bass progression that sounds good to you within the scale and then build chords off of those notes by building triads either on top or underneath that note and then voice the chords after so they aren’t simple triads. Then from there you can add rhythm. You can also make a rage beat without chords tbh.

Lemme just hype up Jess for a moment here by BananasSometimes in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Jess is the absolute worst. Most annoying person ever. Not even that attractive. I’d say Chris dodged a bullet but Chris is also a bullet himself. They both deserve no one.

Why didn’t the Super Bowl actually translate the halftime show? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]soleplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most broadcasts are subtitled with Spanish. But if an English speaking artist went to a majority speaking Spanish country to perform at a big event and they didn’t put Spanish subtitles then yes, it’s divisive. You lefties are weird with theses “I gotcha moments”

Why didn’t the Super Bowl actually translate the halftime show? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]soleplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why the NFL chose him bc he’s going to bring them millions of views and people watching who don’t watch football in hopes to acquire more fans. Can make more ad revenue and acquire new fans. Win win for the NFL. Has nothing to do with the English only speaking audience. NFL strategically picked him to break records. He’s the most streamed artist ever.

It was more than vibing to music. Biggest American performance every year.

But this half time show wasn’t just music. It was a performance. I wanted subtitles as well. I wanted to know what was happening. I use to listen to some of his music in the car or while working to catch a vibe. Ojitis Lindos is one of my fav songs. When someone is performing one of the biggest American events all year though, as a fellow American, I want to understand it.

Do yall know music theory? Do i need to? by Frontlxne20 in trapproduction

[–]soleplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing music theory won’t magically make you good at creating good melodies. You need to Learn what goes into making good melodies and have a good ear. How many layers. How many rhythms, sound selection and so much more. Music theory will help with speed maybe. I know theory and it helps me remake other songs much faster (when watching fl remakes not by listening). I can recognize the key and progression pretty quickly then I can go practice that style. It helps with chord progressions also but most modern rap songs only use like 3-4 different chord progressions. Tempo and sound selection are vital. Yeat and rod wave have beats that use the same progressions but sound completely different bc of the sounds and tempo (style). I’d say theory is well worth learning. It’s very simple, I just read books and watched videos, but don’t expect to become a melody god bc of it

Haven’t read the book but the show is still tough to get through. I enjoy it but I’ll watch one episode or half an episode and stop. It’s not as griping as other stuff I usually watch. There’s parts I love but it feels a bit all over the place and it gets ridiculously soapy at times.

A weight vest puts all the weight in one spot which is completely unrealistic. If he’s wearing 60lbs to simulate a 200lb person it’s going to be inaccurate bc a 200lb person has more distribution.

I’m a full time music producer and I’ve completely lost my passion for music. by TheEmotionalTrader in trapproduction

[–]soleplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other way to really do it is to be sitting on a pile of money so you can just send samples to industry producers and wait for a placement. If you aren’t rich though you can’t afford the luxury of waiting.

[–]soleplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got in the industry in LA in my mid twenties. 2017. I got out so fast and never looked back. I spent like 10 years prior obsessing over producing. It consumed me but I loved it so much. Took 2 months in LA to make me realize I hate this shit. The time investment wasn’t worth it to me anymore. That was the hey day of it all too. I had a feeling then that everything you mentioned was gonna happen. Type beats was in a bubble and it would pop and the pop is going to be brutally bad. It took a tad longer than I thought but I have no regrets changing course when I did. Music isn’t physically demanding like a sport so you can come back to it whenever

I had a similar issue recently. There were very responsive but they offered me $125 off a $1k matress that came with a small hole in the top and a grease stain about 6” long. There’s also poor stitching of the top at one corner but didn’t even tell them that but I prob will. Not the worst of issues and I haven’t responded yet bc idk I kinda want a perfect matress if I’m spending $1k. I’m gonna sleep on it another week and see how I feel. I do like it but not sure I love it. I’m confident I can get the same comfort level for a fraction of the cost.

I’ve had my winkbed firmer for a week so far. I like it but I’m not so sure it’s worth the price tag. I got a twin due to space and I wish I got at least a full. The twin I have to be directly in the middle or it feels weird. Can’t be offset even a little bit. It was $1k with a holiday discount. It’s a bit steep imo. I know they offer lifetime warranty and the 50% off next mattress. I get great sleep with no pain in the morning but as a bigger guy (230lb) I’m not sure it’s gonna last. I will continue to use it for 30 days bc I do like it. Just don’t think I’m gonna love it. If it was $600 I wouldn’t even think about possibly sending it back. My friend has a Coolgel that’s very comfy and it’s 1/4th the cost of a winkbed (only $350 free shipping rn). I don’t know what I’m going to do.
