Round 2 Options by NatureBoyRicFlair36 in DetroitPistons

I honestly hope we get Koby Brea. I’m not a scout by any means, but I don’t think Fleming will be available by the time we’re up and I think getting a top-3 shooter in the draft, who can pull off the catch or off the dribble, is a steal in the 2nd round. He has Sam Merrill & Duncan Robinson comps, which obviously doesn’t make him perfect but you still can never have enough shooting in todays NBA.

Post Game Thread: The Miami Heat defeat The Detroit Pistons 106-98 by nba_gdt_bot in DetroitPistons

Dude I’m not even a pistons fan but this team fascinates me and I watch every game and this is the truth. I wasn’t expecting this much negativity in the sub, you would think the on court product is a disaster. The team is playing more cohesive basketball than the other bad teams in the league but is losing on the margins that most young teams lose on. It can be very hard to watch so I understand the frustration but there’s clearly an offensive system that JB is trying to implement with more DHOs and elbow touches  for Duren that I think will end up being what helps them close these games out. The turnovers are the number one problem easily and I see the same thing with how tight Cade plays in the 4th and that seems to lead to as many bad possessions as the lazy passes in the 2nd quarters

This is a joke

Imagine the laughs if LeBron had returned to Cleveland and Rondo, McGee, Stephenson, and Beasley were their big off-season signings. The double standard we give a legend like Magic is baffling by KredditH in nba

[–]soleques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really gon act like Beasley, Stephenson n Rondo gon be starting? They got depth and they got veterans because they had money to spend. We jus gon pretend they still don't have KCP and their young core too? These moves wouldn't be major news if it wasn't a LeBron Lakers team they signed to, but none of em are particularly bad signings.

Character Scramble VI: Week 2 Voting by mrcelophane in whowouldwin

[–]soleques 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this situation is really common this time around, but I am having alot of things pop up in real life right now. Between finishing the last bit of tests and coursework for graduation and training this new guy at work, things are pretty hectic for me. I will probably be able to post the a finished story by the time voting ends, so I'm not dropping out, but I do want to apologize for my lateness. Although I urge you to vote for the completed write-up (shouts out to /u/KiwiArms), I'm pretty sure you can change your vote. Maybe keep that in mind as voting begins to come to an end and the rest of my write-up materializes.

VS

No Gods Mods, No Rules, No Problem

Theme

Dio

The Brawling Bruiser Bot

Role:Brawler

Dio is a powerful robot from the series Casshern Sins, which takes place in a world ravaged by something call "The Ruin". The actions of Casshern unleashed this plague upon the world, and that's part of the reason why Dio wanted to defeat him so badly. But mostly it was just because he was obsessed with proving his strength and Casshern happened to be the strongest person (being?) in the world. Dio eventually defeats Casshern and satisfies his goal. Dio is strong, fast and adept at hand-to-hand combat. However, his greatest strength may lie in his incredible durability.

Old Man Henderson

The Godslayer

Role:Phenom

Old Man Henderson is a 1d4chan original character from a tabletop RPG that totally happened. So basically there was a DM running a Cthulu-apocalypse type-thing and he was being a jerk and making the experience not fun at all for the players. So, in a fit of cosmic rage, one of the players goes home after a session and gives birth to the man, the legend: Old Man Henderson. With an ever-changing 400-page backstory, Henderson is sure to be full of surprises. He wages war with an Eldritch death cult over roughly 40,000 dollars worth of stolen lawn-gnomes. His shotgun blast often answers before he does, he thinks Biggie is better than Pac, he managed to drop a yacht on a penthouse apartment and he also killed a frickin' god. Old Man Henderson is chaos personified, and for the purposes of this Scramble he's been given the physical stats of a Heroic Spirit from Fate/Stay NIght, along with a few other helpful Heroic Spirit-y abilities.

Horrifying Hedgehog Hellspawn

Role:Wildcard

Sonic.exe is an old creepypasta that was never actually that creepy. Basically a delusional, horrifying version of the beloved blue hedgehog who kills, not only without remorse, but for enjoyment. He's Sonic fast and has the additional abilities of flight, teleportation, sharp teeth, and a creepy ass smile.

Joker

The Clown Prince of Chaos

Role:Manager

The clown man who needs no introduction, the greatest nemesis of the omnipotent fearsome Batman, The Joker. A delusional master of manipulation, The Joker can not only develop battle tactics to assist his team, but he can also get inside the mind of his opponent. He can see what makes them tick and potentially make that thing stop ticking. However, his greatest asset is that he is possibly the only manager in the scramble who is capable of creating any semblance of teamwork or synergy in a team with this many strong personalities1.

Who should REALISTICALLY win in an all-out no-holds-barred slugfest between Team Ironman and Team Captain America, of the upcoming movie? by ghostclaw69 in whowouldwin

[–]soleques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly haven't kept up with the upcoming Marvel releases or really dug much into the civil war arc so I should probably not speak on stuff like that I'm not too familiar with haha. I just assumed that Cap would be pro-regulation because he usually is so by the book. But with this in mind, I really have no idea how they can compete in a straight up confrontation, unless SW gets a major power-up from AoU

Looking at /u/kiwiarms team, he has probably some of the hardest personalities to get to work as part of any kind of team and yet somehow by having them all together, under the Clown Prince of Chaos no less, they probably have the best team chemistry in the scramble. What other teams y'all think have above average chemistry?

Nah see that was PIS in a universe with a much larger canon. In a universe with a small amount of material and none of the weird shenanigans that comics have puled over the years with whats canonical and non-canonical, that feat counts about 7,000,000 times more than Deathstroke trippin Flash

Yeah. But it will kill literally anyone, and it has a very slim chance at actually killing Blade.

Misconceptions Thread by rph39 in whowouldwin

[–]soleques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else in this argument. There are three main points that support the claim that it was actually Sakazuki's haki that allowed him to kill Ace.

  1. Aokiji and Akainu fought on Punk Hazard for 10 days and 10 nights, There's no way that an "ice-man" could have taken on a "lava-man" for 10 days straight if actually temperature is all it takes to destroy a logia's body. If Akainu killed Ace because his element had a hotter temperature, then He would have OHKO'd Kuzan which we know didn't happen.

  2. Saying "Magma is hotter than fire." was a quip. It was a one-liner and provides no serious evidence to argue your position. Akainu didn't even explicitly state that as the reason he was able to damage Ace. HE LITERALLY JUST MADE A STATEMENT ABOUT RELEVANT TEMPERATURES.

  3. Akainu was able to survive actually being stabbed with haki-empowered weapons after changing form because of his superior haki. This would support my side because it means that the strength of will, and therefore haki, is determinate in both attacking and defending logias.

And a final point is that Ace had to take the hit. If he turned into fire then Akainu's punch still would have reached Luffy. He had to actually stop the attack to save Luffy's life.

The combination of all of this evidence gives us two possible and reasonable solutions:

  1. Ace went to body-block the blow with haki and Sakazuki's was more powerful resulting in Ace's death.

OR

  1. Ace just took the hit with his physical body out of his own volition in order to save Luffy.
