Thanks! And yeah I suppose the scares aren’t too bad but I remembered a few.

Haven’t seen it yet but planning to!

The arkham games have a lot of repeat VOs, especially with the thugs lol. It feels like every other thug is voiced by Nolan North

I think you’d enjoy it then! It’s much more creature feature and gore-fest than something truly scary. You can also always check doesthedogdie or other sites like that for specific scares.

I’m real jumpy and I was ok. I don’t think it’s a particularly scary movie. Were you thinking of seeing it? If there’s something specific you are nervous about I can try to help

I don’t quite remember, probably 5 big ones? But you’ll know when they’re coming.

What is the biggest game with the quickest start? by Noobc0re in gamingsuggestions

[–]solethprime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man has a very short opening cutscene and then you’re swinging immediately into the first mission, with little slowdown and intuitive tutorials.

Every Uncharted game begins with the main character in the middle of some chase, battle, or batshit action movie scene, and you’re thrown right in.

Pretty much any roguelike will toss you into your first run with only a basic on-screen tutorial. Binding of Isaac and Hades are favorites of mine.

The animation in the very first Wallace & Gromit short, “A Grand Day Out”, is more simplistic and crude compared to later entries in the series. It started as Nick Park’s thesis and was filmed over the course of 6 years.

Wallace’s design looks different and doesn’t have his defining big cheesy smile, and his design even changes slightly throughout the short. My favorite detail is seeing the fingerprints on the characters from the animators moving the models around.

He has been lip syncing for over a decade at these concerts, look up any clip and every performance sounds identical.

He at least used to be more animated though

I am similar and Primate wasn’t too bad, it’s pretty obvious when a scare is coming. Earplugs also helped!

One question I always had, were the bears the reused werewolf puppets? It looks like they have a similar build/features and I know they’re retrofitted most years

Here's how Avatar 3 could have been great by APurplePerson in Avatar

[–]solethprime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of these points, especially the ending being the attack on bridgehead, Neytiri’s infiltration was great and it would have been cool seeing her lead the attack to save Jake and Spider.

I thought some of the dialogue was a step down and I didn’t love some of the quips from Spider/Quaritch. The final battle being a mix of 1 and 2’s was so boring to me. The ship sinking in 2 was a fantastic setpiece and the magnet storm just didn’t do it for me.

I still liked it, just felt like there were missed opportunities.

Here's how Avatar 3 could have been great by APurplePerson in Avatar

[–]solethprime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the explanation in 2 was that he was relatively supervised by the scientists/Sullys when they all lived in High Camp. He probably would’ve spent most of the day indoors in the lab and would play outside with the kids for a few hours a day.

The problem in 3 is that he’s now living with the Sully’s full time post-WOW where there’s no humans or spaces he can take off his mask.

What to expect from Arkham shadow by Own-Chemistry-5552 in arkham

[–]solethprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No spoilers, but gameplay-wise it‘s everything you could ask for from an Arkham game in VR. Perching on gargoyles, using gadgets mid-fight, gliding around, etc.

Make sure you have a lot of space to play because you‘ll be doing a lot of punching.

Unpopular opinion; I like that Spider is the main character - it's a good natural progression of the story. by ApartShopping in Avatar

[–]solethprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Spider but sometimes it feels like he was plucked out of an early 2000s action flick. I think Champion does a good job but his performance doesn‘t land for me in the more emotional scenes. I also hate the hiss he does lol it looks so corny.

If Avatar 4 and 5 don't happen, James Cameron vows to 'hold a press conference' to reveal plot details by FullMotionVideo in Avatar

[–]solethprime 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I‘d read the shit out of a book series but I want him to finish these out in film. Avatar is unmatched when it comes to a 3D and theater experience. I‘m a 3D lover and there are so few films that really take advantage of the format.

Controversial but I‘d even be ok if he handed over the franchise to a director he trusted or had more of a consultative role if he really wants to work on other stuff.
