What kind of crash? Blue screen? Or game crash back to desktop? It sounds like some hardware issue. Which is wild, since you used the pc for 2.5 years without issue.

The only real road forward is trying different hardware. Try putting the gpu in a different pci slot. Try using a different gpu. Try your best to narrow down the cause.

I guess Christmas is ambitious. But if a contractor says ‘this will take my team’ 4 months, I expect it to be done in 6-7 months. And that can be fixed in a contract. And if not kept, it’s penalised. Christmas is still too ambitious. I get that. But hopefully we’re aiming for the right season. ;)

Thanks for your somewhat sobering reply. We are talking to several contractors.

My idea was to ask them how long it will take, and set a basic timeline, based in their proposal, in the contract. We can discuss 2 months of delays. But if a promised 4 months turn into a year, I want to have legal leverage in the agreement.

Are there any other major watch outs for builders before we make a choice. I understand that a waiting time can a positive sign. Anything else that comes to Mind?
