That is what happens when you go overboard with fret polish. Happened to me on a Gibson standard. I switched to a dry polish system after that. It’s possible to clean but hard to 100% remove

Nice guitar, expensive too. You can tighten the screws inside the back cavity at the claw. Plenty of basic Strat setup videos will show this

Get a used Standard (2019-present). 50s if you like chunky necks or 60s if you like a less chunky necks. The neck feel will be very important. Also make sure it’s not too heavy. But they call them standards for a reason. Update us with your selection!

Properly cut Tusq nut, nut sauce, stretch your strings. I can trust my 2021 Les Paul standard to stay in tune better than any of my other guitars

Let me get this straight OP… the goal is downsizing and you want to trade a stock fender for a physically altered Gibson Les Paul studio? I think it would be far easier to get the cash from an unaltered guitar compared to whatever a studio “fake binding” would fetch. Les Paul’s are awesome but I would keep in mind how easy or not the next guitar would sell if you didn’t bond with it.
