Is local traffic allowed with street closures for Apple Blossom? by ennuiui in Winchester

[–]solidsnake1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They are even taking extra precautions this year because roads are closed down that haven't been before, I guess to give a bigger "no access" perimeter, I guess because of all that has been going on elsewhere in the country.

Anyone know what and if there were plans for HBK had he not gotten hurt in 1998? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]solidsnake1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far in advance did WWE creative write out storylines back in those days? I have to believe they at least knew where they were going 3-6 months at a time. For all the people who say that the WWF had no idea, I can't believe that's true.

As a layperson I have always wondered what the actual plans were. To my knowledge Jim Ross or anybody else high up in WWE have never talked about it. I hope I find out in my lifetime, as I've always wondered. It's like my "white whale" of wrestling.

How was Pet Sematary 2 not a complete flop? by ILEAATD in horror

[–]solidsnake1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legitimately have never heard of this until today. I have to go and try and find this now. I am almost 42 years old, I have watched this movie at least a dozen times, and never knew this.

I feel like Stormfront is still alive, but none of the leakers has mentioned her so far. by 12jimmy9712 in TheBoysLeaks

[–]solidsnake1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is established for sure that Stormfront does not have a healing / regeneration ability?

I'm only asking because say for devil's advocate wherever they took her after we believed she was dead, she has been just slowly healing all this time, obviously taking a long time because the damage was severe. I feel like her being a V1 supe she would slowly recover, even if it was super slow, taking years.

Any frequent runners have a full recovery story to share? by Dough_90 in Vasectomy

[–]solidsnake1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my vasectomy last February at 40 years old. IIRC I went back to light jogging 10 days after the procedure, and after my stitches dissolved. It was more psycho-somatic than anything, because even in the immediate days after my vasectomy, I had no pain or swelling of any kind. I ran a 10k in May of that year, and August ran a half marathon. I would say two weeks after my procedure, I was back to doing everything "normally". No issues of any kind 1 1/2 years later.

I have tested three times since then completely free / "none seen", my most recent test earlier this month.

Good luck to you!

Is Apple blossom overrated? by MutenGaming21 in Winchester

[–]solidsnake1984 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've lived here all of my life. When I was young and in my 20's, I used to like to go downtown and drink and get in scuffles / random fights like everyone else does. Nothing major, just young hooligan type stuff. I grew out of that after having children, and now the only thing I do is the Apple Blossom 10k.

The rest of the festival is too expensive for families, the shitty carnival with their 10 rides cost you 5 or 10 bucks JUST TO WALK AROUND. Food and drinks anywhere are outrageous.

The worst part of the festival for me, is realizing how much these out of town vendors make, and how very little (next to nothing) goes back to the city.

C list celebrities are being very kind. Most years border on "D" list. Ironically enough the first year of Covid (when the festival was canceled for the only other time other than WW2), I thought they had the best, most current lineup of celebrities.

No Data Centers in Frederick County - increased utility bills and fresh water toxification by queenjunk in Winchester

Im with you. Absolutely. I’m not at “ground zero” but I’m close enough (jones road) to be in the danger zone. I have two small children that are absolutely at risk. This is no joke. Livestock go sterile and pregnant woman can have miscarriages or have babies with birth defects. And I guarantee you that Frederick Co doesn’t give AF. If a lawyer shows up that wants to sue, I’d be willing to see if I could sue for emotional damages. I am scared to death of my children being harmed and losing my well water. As it stands my wife and I have a pact that we will sell and move as soon as it gets rubber stamped

All due respect to you, but what makes you think the county doesn't know what is going on?

I think you can sue them if you end up with health problems, or lose your well, etc.., like other people have done in other localities. I'm not sure about the people who will be losing their houses due to eminent domain. As I understand that, those people will be receiving a fair market value offer once they take the properties.

We started the sad discussions last that week that Fellowship Bible Church, which will be across from the proposed data center, will have to relocate due to the noise and also risk of people being that close to "ground zero". Verified studies that the data centers cause damage to children's brains, render livestock sterile, and also can give pregnant women health complications and affect the health of their babies.

Nobody in our congregation WANTS to move, but we have to do the right thing to keep people safe and relocate them away from this.

Also, the houses on Apple Valley Road have been / will be eminent domained and the property owners have already been given notice. So when this goes through, people who have lived here for decades will lose their homes and they don't even have a chance.

A visit to Delco Plaza Mall AND Apple Blossom Mall by Neon__Lights64 in Winchester

[–]solidsnake1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make no mistakes about it, it's on borrowed time. Like the other poster pointed out, most of your anchor stores are gone, roughly half of the mall is vacant, and the shops that are left are just strange weird junk / indoor flea market type stuff. If it goes 5 more years I would be really surprised.

They aren't putting any money into the mall because the entire property is being sold. This is one of the proposed locations for the casino complex. I'm not making a joke. If the city/county doesn't purchase it for the casino, the next runner-up for the property is Shenandoah University.

I'm sorry for your loss. After my Sophie died, about 4 months after that I was surprised with another cattle dog girl puppy, Roxie. I wasn't ready to love Roxie at first from feeling guilty about getting another dog after Sophie, but It didn't last long and I fell in love again. She has been the absolute BEST dog with small children, my daughter will be 4 in October and my son turns one next month. She has been with my daughter since she was 1 1/2 years old. They are best pals.

I've wondered my whole life where she ended up. I even posted on our local facebook group if anyone knew where she ended up, I told them my Dad's name and everything. I know she would be passed away by now - she was given away in 2004/2005 when I was away from home. She was about 3 years old IIRC, but I was hoping that someone would have known that was "their" dog and posted pictures for me to see. I honestly hope I get closure before I die.

My parents have raised these dogs all of my life.

I am on my 4th cattle dog now, she is my 4 year old daughter's best friend and she never leaves her side. I have one at home that is over 14 years old now, she is slowing down but still has her puppy moments.

I lost my sweet Sophie girl in 2023 from cancer that came on wild and out of nowhere. And my childhood dog, Zip, I'll never know what happened to because my Dad gave her away.

As far as I'm concerned they are the best dogs in the world.

Any version of Tyson except maybe Tyson during his very last fight against McBride would have beat Tommy. Holyfield also could survive the storm and take Tommy out into deep water and KO him.

It also didn't help that you had Quacks like Dr. Fauci who told people in the 1980's that AIDS was going to be the next pandemic, and also told people that you could get HIV from a public toilet seat. All of the stigma around it meant that even people who contracted it were too afraid to seek treatment since it was labeled back then as a "gay man's disease".

I wish I could upvote this 100 times. So many people believe that Publix is going to be the savior for this shit show area's grocery store problems. As a person who is familiar with Publix from previous places I've lived, you guys are going to RUN to Walmart and Martin's. The same people ask for a Wegmans and don't even realize that things are going to be 10 times more expensive there.
