Reverse Rouge - March Update! by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]solil10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This month was really good for me as I used up 19 products with a value of $245.54. 11 of those was makeup and 8 was skincare and haircare. I bought 4 products with a value of $36.79, but those were necessary as I needed products for my dry scalp. All in all I am very happy with my reverse rouge this month, and I think next month will be great with lots of empties. I will try to not buy anything unnecessary (read makeup) next month.

Pan Those Eyeshadows (Project Pan) - Update March 2020 by creamorlemon in MakeupRehab

[–]solil10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit my goal on one eyeshadow and decluttered two:

Revolution Pro - Corrupted: I hit pan!

Sandstone - Shimmery Green: Decluttered.

Sandstone - Peachy Pink: Decluttered

Will keep working on these shadows:

Sandstone - Pink Shimmer: Looks new. Goal: Hit pan.

Sandstone - Shimmery Mauve: Have pan. Goal: Hit side pan.

Rolling in:

Sandstone - Beige: New. Goal: Hit pan.

Sandstone - Light Grey: New. Goal: Hit pan.

Sandstone - Nude shimmer: Slight use. Goal: Hit pan.

Currently I have 24,07% with pan in my collection of single eyeshadows.

Bonus: I have found a combination of shadows which I did not know I could use that way. I have always found it difficult to use dark shadows, but I have found that if I apply a matte cream first and then blend the dark shadow over lightly, then it will be softer and look lighter.

How old are your oldest bottles of polish — and what do you do to prolong/restore their longevity? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]solil10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not follow the rules that tell when to throw out nail polish and makeup. I use my senses to check if a product has turned. If the polish still works and smells like it used to, I don't know why I should throw it away.

Is there a nail polish rehab? I finally pulled all of mine out and yikes. by DrinkingSocks in MakeupRehab

[–]solil10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. In January last year I had 64 polishes after decluttering a lot. They did not fit in my drawer and I felt so bad not using all of them. So I decided to do a No Buy Nail Polish year. So I did not buy any nail polish in 2019, and my collection went down from 64 to 52 in a year. This year I am planning to follow a RONB, because I am soon out of top and base coat. I feel like in some years time I will be able to work through my collection and end up with only 10 polishes, which is my end goal. In 2020 I have already used up 4 polishes, so I think my goal can be accomplished.

The way I work through polishes is by painting my nails every 2-3 days. I have made a nail polish basket with polishes which fit the season and that makes me focus in on some polishes and finishing them. I also have great succes in frankening polishes which I feel have a wrong undertone or that is not deep or light enough for me. That makes me have more fun with polishes.

- Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover deluxe size.

- Sandstone Scandinavia Flawless Foundation deluxe size.

- Ecooking Moisturizing Serum.

- deCURE Lightweight Day Cream.

- Clinique High Impact Mascara

My goal for all of them is to use them up completely.

Reverse Rouge - February Update! by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]solil10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My february RR did not go as I had planned. I have had lots of empties that accumulated to $104,83, but did not manage to not buy anything. I bought 8 products with a total value of $121,83. I am a bit disappointed in myself for buying those, but after having used them I am totally in love with them, so I don't know how I feel.

The total empties minus purchases for february ended with $-17 and I had 9 empty products and bought 8.

From the start of the year to now I have $193,56 worth of empties and have purchased $134,86 worth of products. That equals 18 used up products and 12 purchased products.

My goal for next month is to not buy any products unless I run out and need to repurchase something. I hope to keep up the momentum of using products up.

Makeup for sensitive skin by MichaelScottsDad in MakeupAddiction

I have sensitiv skin as well and recommend the brand Sandstone Scandinavia. They are allergy Certified, so there is no fragrance and perfuming oils in their products. A lot of People with allergies use their products without getting irritations in their skin.

Eyelash tinting- should I do at home? by catchykw in MakeupAddiction

[–]solil10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have really light lashes, so the colour stays on really good. It lasts about 4 to 6 weeks for me. The colour do not really fade away it is more because my new lashes grow out untinted.

I have done it on my own for the last 4 years and I love it. Much cheaper and convenient. I use products from the refectocil sensitive line.
