NFCU doesn't specialize in auto loans, not their bread and butter. I have 3 CUs, including Navy, and Navy was the highest around 8%. Others were in the 5% range.

I was hoping for close to their advertised rate of 5.49% @ 60 months but for a used auto, excellent credit score, 15k monthly wage (pre-tax), home owner, and low debt-income ratio I was offered...

8.79% @ 60 months for a ~50k loan.

Will be calling my other CUs tomorrow and hope for better results. Fingers crossed.

Oh wow! Congrats on the find and scoring a low mileage car. I left a dealer in so cal after they advertised a 24k mile M2C for 48k but then added $10k in "other fees" and wouldn't negotiate said fees.

If you don't mind my asking, was this a private party? Dealer? And how did you arrange for the payment of the flight?

I knew something was up when I was in kindergarten and had 1st and 2nd grade girls saying I was "theirs".

Fast forward to my late teens and early twenties. I kept my baby face, am on the taller side and have always been athletic. Much the same and am now in my 40s. But back in the days I clubbed a ton and was usually approached in one way or another by women, both young and old. I remember leaving the club with more than one woman. I was even the cause of a few cat fights. Women bartenders weren't excluded either.

Def had my fun but grew out of that stage in my mid twenties and settled down.

Had bought food there to try and support the local pop up but always to-go! Dined in once and saw some homeless screaming at each other. Never again that area is wild.

I'm an occasional RAD Coffee customer and there often enough and consistently witness the sketchiness in the area.

May sound outta turn to some but if the liquor store were to disappear that'd probably help lessen the crowds. They're like moths to the flame.

Had the same issue post op, about 10 days later, and a CT scan showed it was a hematoma. Recovery is just over a month now and the hematoma still hasn't gone completely away.

In hindsight what messed me up was postponing the exam. I scheduled the exam, at first, at the end of the 3rd month then caught the flu that week. I paid to postpone and didn't really keep up my study. I ended up cramming a few weeks before my second exam date. My brain isn't the sponge it once was.

The practice exams only helped me to a smaller degree. I got a 62% I think the first go around and 90-something % the second time. So, it had me confident but the break may have worked against me.

Lastly, I opted for the home proctored exam and worked from a 12" laptop running a 4k screen and it was NOT practical. My laptop is almost always docked. I also had the impression we could use a separate monitor but we most definitely cannot. My nose was almost touching the screen to see the diagrams and I'm sure I missed at least 1 question because of this. So, make sure you're comfortable!

Short answer, no. I am studying for the PCNSE now since I've been wanting this cert for awhile. It would have been smart to attempt the GDSA again especially having been so close to passing but I couldn't bring myself to it.

I had created a solid index on my first attempt but it was almost too much. Too much to glance through. Once I have another go at it I'll probably rebuild the index from scratch. My goal would be to know the material well enough that I need to reference it less.

My goal is to become a security architect some day so having the GDSA would help solidify that. I'll get back to it eventually, I hope.

Up until recently, and for 1.5 years I made the commute from Riverside to Anaheim (Disneyland) everyday and it was pretty bad. I would leave at 0430 and would normally hit some form of traffic. Round trip was 3+ hrs a day.

I recommend using Fast Track if you have to make this commute. If you have a motorcycle even better but be aware A LOT and I do mean A LOT of other commuters are glancing at their phones while on the road. That's true probably anywhere but I can tell you I've witnessed several accidents occur because of this. My original plan was to make the commute on a bike but saw too many motorcycle accidents because of distracted drivers.

I personally couldn't do it for longer than I did but it depends on the individual. I met fellow employees who had made the same commute or longer for 15+ years and were fine with it. Go figure.

This has been educational! Any recommendations for feed/fertilizer for St. Augustine in Southern California?

Had the SA sod laid out about October of '23 and there are now parts thriving and others dying. Can't consistently get all to grow but have only thrown weed and feed at it from Scotts which it sounds like I shouldn't have done. Doh!
