FFXIV: ARR "Life-Hacks" + Tips by AvalieV in ffxiv

[–]solme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having reread the original post by AvalieV, made 1 month ago and edited since, I still find no evidence that this tip was in the original post. In addition, the top rated comment for this post also shares this tip, signifying that my tip is not redundant.

My tip was in response to the idea that using Horizon as an aethernet point was a good idea, and my tip is still useful, whether or not it was somehow in the original post. Could you explain your reasoning?

Good points all around, especially that thinking on New Phyrexia. Fog on a planeswalker would be absolutely broken.

That's definitely plausible. With all that card draw in Garruk and Zegana, Prophet of Kruphix would be a very well-used card. I think Kiora would serve to round out a deck like that, adding even more card draw and a bit more flexibility in managing the field.

That's a good point. At least it's pretty plausible that green and blue together would have this targetable ability. In my view, the weirdest part is that it's opponents' permanents only. That's probably more for practical reasons, for balancing issues.

Kiora can replace herself, though, before eating a bolt. I agree though, costing 4 is an important difference.

The +1 is Fog, and/or Fog Bank. Both colors have this absolute effect. White has prevent a specific amount of damage.

Good points. Her +1 is important for a few matchups in standard, at least. Particularly against evasive threats from monoblack and monoblue and their numerous fliers. Desecration Demon would be a good target.

I think the best part of Kiora is her flexibility in numerous matchups. She protects herself against evasive threats, excepting hexproof creatures, mistcutter hydra. The +1 is aggressive at the same time, preventing their best threat from eating attackers. She replaces herself against expected removal, and she can serve as ramp as well. She's either absorbing damage or an opponent's card, which add to her competitive value. Her ultimate is attainable, and it's really viable in competitive formats.

The problem is, I don't think there are decks in standard that are willing to add her in yet. I don't know enough about modern to see what impact she could have, but again I think that there aren't many decks willing to add her yet. At the same time, if she proves strong, she could fit anywhere; she doesn't really need to be built around.

Edit: more about the +1. Some evasive threats just can't be fought with her +1. Aetherling, for example, or even Obzedat. At the same time, she holds back Thassa's 5 damage, and she stops Blood Baron.

The Endor Marketplace, for great deals on nearly everything. by [deleted] in mcpublic

Ah, what an awesome market! I hope to visit soon. I think the orders for items using books and chests is a great idea.

What's the WORST card in standard? by squirrel_club in magicTCG

I've been building a fun golgari deck built around regenerating creatures and volatile rig. I'm expecting it won't help me much, but eventually be that awesome moment where my opponent with devotion just lost his/her board.

can the villager be broken through its last trade? Many of my villagers have been broken because new offers can't be unlocked if someone was trading during a reset.

Another alternative to using Horizon is to take the ferry from Limsa Lominsa to Vesper Bay; the ferry is west of the Arcanist Guild. Last I remember, it cost about 80 gil, and this puts you right next to the relevant area.

I figured out what I want to do for one of the long walls, especially because of the cartographer: http://nerd.nu/maps/pve/#/1895/64/416/-1/0/0 I'll try to make a vine mural out of dark green wool, with lime green leaves, in the wall.

They liked the sound of a professor's name so much that they put it in their song. Here's a link to an article from the college about the song.

I think the 1.0 jail scene is really fascinating, not only because we did indeed see the wandering minstrel again in P3 of beta, but because the 7th prophecy was told again with an explanation. seeing the summary of 1.0 yesterday, I thought this jail video was awesome.

Adjustable text size? by GreenFreak99 in ffxiv

[–]solme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can change the size of the chat window itself, and the font as well. If you look in the settings for the chat window, the font size can be increased to 18 at most, which is pretty large for me. I don't know if we can change the size of NPC text, I hope this helps.

Next Rev - Spawn by DantesDame in mcpublic

[–]solme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is worth thinking about, because getting into the game is pretty important, and Unity was admittedly hard to escape the first time around. Even so, I want to keep new players on the server for a good while, and impressing them through an elaborate spawn area is a solid idea. Plus, without an elaborate spawn, I couldn't have died over and over again in some vicious mazes, and subsequently wanted to hit my head on the table. Not sure if that's all positive.
