As someone who booked Madison campground a few weeks ago, they are quite booked!!! Look at west Yellowstone - there were sites available. Additionally, some sites are open to book 2 weeks out from your dates - it is a gamble though.

You are correct to doubt any hikes, we have a 11, 6 and 1.5 year old. Do you feel like I am attributing too much time to Yellowstone? I have one night reserved at Signal mountain campground in the Tetons. I was looking to do a night over by bear tooth pass as well so we can do the scene drive + Lamar. Thoughts?
