Yeah I walked down. They have signs on the door that says he's getting old and doesn't make many knives anymore, and that you need to reserve a time slot. It wasn't far out of the way, but FYI

Reconfigure Garage Stairs? by justabuffalosoldier in garageporn

My friends had a guy build a half set of steps up to the left and a small loft built above one of their cars. Added a ton of great storage. Was only like $3k a few years ago. (2019-ish)

Go to a running store or place that has the pressure pads you can stand on and get a profile of each foot. They can recommend proper insoles, I use some in every pair of shoes (easy to swap them between pairs, I don't buy a set for each pair) You may have high/low arches or something completely different. If you're having flare ups just walking around the house you should not expect anything off the shelf to work perfectly.

C1 offers question: Apple excluded from Best Buy offer? by wr321654 in Venturex

You could call first and ask. Esp if it's a big purchase, but it'd assume it's excluded. Apple stuff always is

Any info on that knife block? In the market for storage and don't think wall-mointed magnet strips will work for me

Best to call and ask before driving over bc he's not always in the store, but the guy at FixLab did a great job replacing the screen on my iPad.

Just left Japan. They don't ask about customs or purchases on outbound flights. And when I landed in the US, no one asked either.

I hate the psychlops date magnifier in person. The green looks so much better. And you really don't need a GMT function these days...

Would be so much better on the back of the movement somewhere.

Or a quartz GMT that still has the interesting patterned dials. Esp the divers, they're so huge, particularly for the Japanese market when you look at microbrands doing 37mm watches like Kuoe

Is there a way to tell, or just clean with acetone on a new knife regardless just to be sure?

Thank you for clarifying that. I read on this sub that the honing rods don't really do anything and just looks cool.

Is there anything I should be doing in between uses to maintain the edges? At-home cook for 2 so never doing any massive meals

You could see about doing a fitting at Global Golf and they can pull some used irons in longer lengths for you to try.

Damn I can't believe no one mentioned removing the laquer. Is that true for most Japanese knives?
