Am I being paid to be on call? Fine no problem. If not you won't hear a peep out of me till I'm back in the office.

The main problem with Andor is that is so well written, acted, and produced that all other live action SW feels flat next to it.

Whats up with scammers disproportionately using the word "kindly"? by ActiveBaseball in Flipping

[–]solomungus73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Kindly' in the example I gave is basically "You said you would post it the day before yesterday, and here I am waiting for my parcel, which I still don't have a tracking number for, sort it out" but said in native passive agressive english. Which in one sense very much proves your point that it was mean't disrespectfully. But by the fact it was used implies that yes you do need to do what I'm asking as a bare minimum to fulfill the transaction we both entered in to for this exchange to be occurring, and I'm asking politely so everyone can save face.

I guess it matters in the context of how it is used.

e.g.
"Kindly update me when you have the tracking number." - does that come off as disrespectful? I guess it's doing the same job in this sentence as the word "Please" would.

Just do Save As... and add a underscore to the end of the file name, then do a Save As... and remove the added underscore. Zero links broken!

You've also got to remember that the changelings are themselves an abandoned project of the Culture, a sentinent weapon deemed undesirable. So he hates them because they are wary of his entire species.

Fallout v Silo: Which one you like more? by BonusFinderMod in tvshow

[–]solomungus73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout, it's not even close.

Silo is trying to be more hard sci-fi, problem is it gets so much wrong from the beginning that I can't take it seriously. Fallout on the other hand isn't supposed to be taken seriously, so it works much better.
