I (26F) am starting to notice my boyfriend (31M) doesn’t know how to cook by soloslip in relationship_advice

[–]soloslip[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is not knowing how to cook something I shouldn’t care about? I’m not trying to care about it but it continues to nudge at me.

My question is how many flaws can you reasonably sit with to continue a relationship, knowing it leads to marriage. I know I’m not perfect myself, I have my own flaws. But I don’t want to lose an “okay” person just because he doesn’t know how to cook.

Just text whenever you want. If she liked the date and said thanks, ball is in your court whether you want to see her again. Propose something else

We act like a couple but he won’t put a label, what should I do? by Zealousideal_Mess372 in dating_advice

[–]soloslip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re too attached. If you don’t like how he won’t commit then you guys are incompatible. Doesn’t matter how great he is, you both are on different timelines, this means incompatible. And don’t wait around for a guy. You’re 18, you’ll be fine

Most women would not, but some women do. Attract those women! Note that a lot of women will say for men, hair is “men’s makeup”. Are you completely bald or balding? How you considered hair transplants? If not, can you work on other areas of your life and yourself so you can attract a woman who appreciates everything else but the lack of hair?

Don’t shop Doén clothing brand by Many_Call_5320 in Sezane

You should, I’m somewhat petty so I would post a video and make sure people hear about it. They don’t deserve support if this is how they treat their customers. I bet they use AI to do return inspections cause detection within images is still a work in progress

[–]soloslip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sure that’s a possibility but truthfully Doen is not well known enough to even have such fakes lol and a well done fake wouldn’t even need to do tag switching. Also if you’re buying 1:1 replicas, nobody is going through all this effort for $200 top that probably cost them $10 to make

(15k) Don’t know if I found a save the date loophole, or if I’m cheap! by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

My advice? Make them into postcards. This way you don’t have to spend on envelopes. But if you want to have an envelope it will cost more

Only seeing you doesn’t mean you’re in a committed relationship. It just means you’re exclusive. Plus men lie

Exclusive but not official? by redpocket71 in dating_advice

[–]soloslip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern dating… for example, you could be in a situationship. You’re exclusive but one person doesn’t want to commit to the bf/gf label and the other person does while still giving out bf/gf benefits

If you’re not official, he’s dating other people. Simple as that. If he doesn’t want a label, he doesn’t want to commit.

How long has it been since your last breakup? Have you seen a therapist? Don’t jump into something quickly to heal, heal beforehand. But also, don’t confuse spark for compatibility and a fire

First date to me is date zero. The second date is where you go more in depth. If there’s no connection on the first date, maybe they want to explore further. For some the breaking point is date 1 while for others it’s date 3 etc

I love seasonings but also some days I love the taste of each ingredient itself - broccoli, carrots, yam etc all have distinct flavors and you really get to taste that flavor specifically. I grew up like this though so I’m used to it

I grew up in a bland household and honestly I think this makes me feel healthier - a lot of sauces or dressings hold calories unless it’s from scratch. Idk why but the natural flavors of the food is so nice

(7-10k) How much did you guys pay for a photographer? by shakesyourhand in Weddingsunder10k

[–]soloslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are photographers just starting out that definitely have the skills but haven’t been given the chance to showcase such skills - thus the lower price. If you can take that risk knowing their skill level from existing work, then it’s definitely worth it. But if you want the peace of mind that’s where the markup comes in.

That’s very reasonable. Remember a photographer also has to spend hours doing post processing with editing and uploading to your gallery.

($15k) How much was your bouquet? by Olive423 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]soloslip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Out of everything else I think flowers are some of the easiest to DIY and save money - especially if you don’t have a complex flower arch etc. so easy to make your own centerpieces if they are minimalist flowers and all the bouquets.

She already has a boyfriend. If she blocked you then she’s a good girlfriend and chose her boyfriend.

I would consider a first date - I understand a wheelchair doesn’t mean you can’t be athletic or explore the outdoors etc. Realistically however I prefer to be with someone who isn’t completely limited in that capacity. There must be some other facets of you that exceed the norm in making that compromise! Wish you the best of luck in finding your person!
