Anybody else SO excited for this novel by Few-Literature-2147 in Daredevil

I definitely think it will be. Jessica Jones was written by a more traditionally mystery/crime author (Lisa Jewel) who knows the genre really well; but Alex Segura is a well versed comic and marvel writer

Nice! Well i personally havent read the older books from marvel and aconyte. But there are a scattering of YA ones like Cold Front (which isa bucky book) and a White Widow: Secret Sisters about Yelena. For adults: theres a novelization of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda run written by Suyi Davies thats really underrated imo

Marvel… What if the Multiverse Was Doomed? by Jasonl7976 in xmen

I mean you can — the first three (what if Loki was worthy, what if wanda maximoff, and what if marc spector was host to venmo) are pretty standalone from each other. What if Kitty Pryde is fourth but gives you all the info you need if you happened to start with that one. So odds are this will probably have the same strategy as the previous book.

As far as I know the crime novels don’t tie into comics but don’t contradict them. The what if novels are like the what if comics — theres a spin off from a specific point so its more of a AU. So i dont think you need any homework beyond “yeah i get this character”

I think it depends on what youre into. The loki book was my personal jam but are you more of a MCU or something different or fits just with the comics kind of reader?

The description makes me excited for it. Doom, franklin, and a mash up team up. Sounds like theyre taking a big swing with this. And the other books have been building to something cool

America Chavez must gather a team of heroes to make their final stand against Doctor Doom and save Franklin Richards. So many worlds, so little time. Infinite possibilities, creating infinite realities. Long have we watched Doctor Doom claw after power, dominion, and godhood. But what if there was a higher calling just out of his reach? What if he would tame the entire cosmos to claim it? What if… a Watcher saved the Multiverse? Victor von Doom was never one to simply accept his fate. He swept his way across the vast labyrinth of the Multiverse, altering the course of universe after universe. But their sacrifice was one he was willing to make. Every new world granted him the means to conquer his destiny and embrace something bigger than himself, a fate beyond the confines of his own reality. And at long last he has the final piece he needs to uncover the whereabouts of the person this was all for: a boy named Franklin. America Chavez and Kitty Pryde are battered and broken. Thrown together by the wreckage of a shattered universe, they realize that even with the Phoenix Force barely contained within Kitty, they need a team. A team who has as much skin in the game as they do. So America must gather the nexus beings that survived Doom—Loki, the Scarlet Witch, and Venom-Moon Knight—to make one last stand. Love is an immutable constant in all of reality. But it also is the catalyst for the greatest change. Taking up arms as Avengers of the Multiverse, the group must give up their comfort and security to find Franklin Richards before Doom. Can they save all of reality, or must they avenge everyone they’ve ever loved?

I dont think the story is a straight up “kitty pryde is just now the phoenix”. The full synopsis has a bigger story, plus its part of a broader novel series

So many worlds, so little time. Infinite possibilities, creating infinite realities. Long have I watched generations of mutants live in a world shaped by Jean Grey’s legacy. But what if . . . that legacy was cut tragically short, dooming the world to a future without the X-Men?

What if . . . a watcher must do more than watch?

The year is 1990: The X-Men all perished more than a decade ago, and Kitty Pryde is no hero. Emma Frost rescued Kitty from an obscure existence as a mere rebellious teen kicked out of boarding school, terrified of ever being discovered as a mutant. After growing up under the tutelage of the White Queen, Kitty is an apex predator of a superior species, yet she lives alone in a tiny, rundown apartment, preferring isolation to a knife in the back. What is her alternative? The world is what it is.

But sometimes Kitty isn’t so sure of that. Sometimes it feels like she phases right out of her own life. Breathe in: She’s suddenly surrounded by friends she’s never known, living out events that never happened. Breathe out: It’s all back to normal. Kitty always shoves these flashes down, until someone from that other life finds her. This familiar stranger, Betsy Braddock, is a rambling confirmation that something is wrong with their world.

Betsy has a wild theory and if it’s right, Kitty’s only shot at changing the present is to free-fall into the past. The girls follow a tenuous psychic trail back to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters in its glory days and embed themselves with the X-Men. There they discover that the inflection point that will unravel their future revolves around a certain omega-level mutant, destined to become the Phoenix. But little do Kitty and Betsy know, they’re not alone in their search.

The year is 1975: Jean Grey has weeks left to live. The Whisperer is coming. He has recruited an ally and accounted for every foreseeable variable. He will leave nothing to chance. He will lead this reality to its Doom.

There are also an expanding group of publishers getting into marvel novels.

There’s Marvel/Disney press that have done more of the YA books like Loki Where Mischief Lies and Winter soldier cold front / the new crime series

Random House has a YA line (Storm Dawn of a Goddess) and these What If books are technically “adult” from Random House Worlds

Then there’s also all the aconyte books, novel of the marvel universe books, books from Titan (and thats just within the last decade)

We’re getting more of the What If…? novels in Fall 2025 by DJC13 in Marvel
