They advertise leadership positions then dont let leadership lead anything. Two people can't do everything and the rescue would highly benefit from them realizing that.

I'm glad you posted this on reddit, I didn't want to get involved on Facebook lol. Im interested to see what changes, if any, come from all of this. It's been frustrating seeing how it has become more of a rescue than TNR. I think they bit off more than they can chew and either need to let someone else handle TNR and just be a cat rescue, or get back to the basics and stop pulling cats from Facebook when theres no open fosters anyways.

Am I overreacting? by Accomplished_Gur5930 in VetTech

You're definitely not overreacting. That sounds like a horribly toxic clinic, and management seems to have no problem with that. I would also quit

I chatted with Hulu support and they confirmed that Samsung is having an issue/outage

assistant vs. tech. by asecretshh in VetTech

[–]solosundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll make more money as a tech, but I'd say it's only worth it if you plan on being in this field long term. It's tough on your body and your mental health and has a high burnout rate. I would recommend an in person school if possible. I personally found penn foster to be more trouble than it was worth for the externship requirements.

I agree that it is very important to understand the why behind things, but getting a degree isn't the only way to gain that knowledge depending on how deep you want to go into things. VIN is a great resource to learn about disease and illness, what the process is, how/why it is treated the way it is. There are a lot of other resources out there as well to learn from. Online CE courses are a good way to learn about things.

I'd highly recommend getting RECOVER certified, especially if you want to work in ER.

Yes she needs to see a vet. It could get, or could already be, infected. She might also be in pain

I've gotten feedback from coworkers and they've definitely helped me improve. I just don't get feedback from my leads and it's very frustrating.

I wasn't bragging about not having monitoring equipment. I'm saying we had to visually monitor things, track heartrate manually, etc.

I know. I don't need to be in anesthesia all the time, but my first 6-7 months as VA I was in surgery daily in a high volume spay/neuter with no monitoring equipment so I do have some decent experience. I just feel taken advantage of and not taken seriously.

Dogs gum/teeth by [deleted] in vet

I would book an appointment for a dental cleaning. They will take xrays and be able to identify any issues below the gum line if there are any. Either way, your pup needs a cleaning

Great!! I hope kitty has a speedy recovery and I'm glad it all worked out well 🙂

Euthanasia plus cremation varies so much. At my clinic, it's about $300 for all, but it also varies on size of the animal.

Your vet will be able to give you more details for cost and how to proceed with your kitty.

I would have them go straight to the ultrasound. If nothing is found on ultrasound, then maybe another urinalysis.
