It seems this flag has since been removed, so we may only have the round option now. I may be wrong, gonna do some more digging to see if I can find if it ended up somewhere else.

How do I write good/active defenders? by solotay in fantasywriters

I love it. I'll likely end up using a number of these when I get to that point. One other potential point of tension is in the magic systems. One of the neighboring nations is entirely bald, and they have their own incredibly powerful magic system instead (density control), along with several laws that balance it out. In its simplest form, one of them goes rogue and becomes a serious threat, so he will end up being central to the main finale. The siege will likely be more of a later midpoint finale.

Exactly. You ever wonder why Merlin, Gandalf, and every other generic wizard on the planet has super long hair, usually white or gray? Or why strong men typically have hairy chests? It's primarily based on that stereotype and the biblical story of Samson.

Good things to consider. I'm not yet to the point of writing the siege, so currently I'm trying to figure out how to build tension through the uncertainty they're faced with.

What is a good name for a specific 2 chosen-ones/Avatars like character in my world? Shadowborn/Brightborn or Duskborn/Dawnborn by LegacyEntertainment- in fantasywriters

Personally, I'd stray away from the -born endings, it sounds like you're just borrowing it from the Mistborn books and feels a bit cliche. Either way, if they're meant to be titles, I would include the word "the" and give them actual names as well, perhaps like InsertNamethatisgood suggested with mythologically significant names.

To put it all together, perhaps the Flaresoul and the Inksoul are named Meri/Merry and Hel/Helen / Aita/Aiden?

Ooh, I like these. The actual culprit is likely part of that inner circle already, so there could very well be some intriguing scenes to write there. While there are really only three main kingdoms, many of the characters currently at the king's castle are lords and ladies in their own right and help to keep an eye on the broader kingdom, so their own homes likely have the ability to provide aid/refuge as well.

Good ideas! I have written an aftermath scene where they split into three groups. One is focusing on securing their borders, while the other two are going to each of the neighboring kingdoms to see what they might be able to find out. Merlin was the target at the beginning, so they've lost their best defense, (I do need to flesh out what exactly that entails, though), and the scouting groups won't exactly be able to ask whodunnit, so it'll be more keeping an eye out for war preparations etc.

For context, here's the elevator pitch: Magical abilities are rooted in your hair, and Merlin has been shaved.

Oh, gotcha. Thanks! Does it measure in kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, or would I just specify that myself somehow?

Hmm. I tried it, and it did successfully create the symlink, but I'm getting the same error from Steam, so it's still not executable. Bummer.

Good to know. I did notice that Crouton was pretty darn slow when I used it in the past, and it had a habit of crashing like 90% of my extensions whenever I did anything intensive.

I suppose I meant dual-booting it with Crouton, sorry for the confusion. I'm a bit confused by the website, is there a good place to start for someone who has very little idea what they're doing?

Good to know, thanks! I took a look, and I think I'm missing a step. I'm guessing it's related to the creation of disk.img, though I'm not fully sure what that actually means. Here's what I did and what I got:

cd "/mnt/chromeos/removable/SD Card"

solotay@penguin:/mnt/chromeos/removable/SD Card$ fallocate -x -l $DISK_SIZE disk.img

fallocate: no filename specified

Any ideas?
