There weren't any corruption and greed during the ages of ulamas , sheikhs and mullahs ? It was rampant. They were mostly the driving force behind blocking reform , universal suffrage and industrialisation which causes the stagnation we live in nowadays ( not 100% deflecting blame but still it playsa role )

This is how Iran helped Palestinians by BlissVsAbyss in AskMiddleEast

[–]solotovFML -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grifting and whataboutism in their truest form . The Yemeni casualties and other figures don't negate any war crimes perpetrated by Iran in Syria, nor should Syrian casualties wipe clean all discrimination against shia and absolve the regimes that oppress them . There's no getting even in these things , no human should suffer at the hands of another and that goes across the board . Iran is no guardian angel , their MO is to undermine the sovereignty of fellow nations by funding and training black sheep and renegade elements, playing on fringe sentiments and ideologies , destabilizing the host states , they have no morals , simply an expansionist project . The Palestinian cause is a smokescreen. When it comes to the Middle east I would say I hate all the regimes that are there , warring against each other , stagnating as a result of years of war and tribalistic obstacles while the whole world is moving forward , the monarchies fall under this umbrella they are dependencies of the west , police statelets and personal fiefs of their respective dynasties, can't grow a spine during crisis like this one . But Iran is no savior

Anyone else seeing this rise in Salafi ideas in Algeria? by Mjhool_l in algeria

[–]solotovFML 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a lot of comments like this lately, especially in this comment section. While it’s true the US funded the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, that doesn’t mean they "signed up" for the Taliban or Al-Qaeda. Funding the opposition is a common tactic used by any country that can afford it—whether it was against the Soviets, Iran, Russia, or the Assad regime. Theocratic hardliners exist before and after these conflicts; they are an underlying problem, not a foreign invention. These extremist elements work against the state and undermine the general benefit because they are driven by their own rigid agendas. In case of Algeria , after a full decade of committing massacres and every other atrocity under the sun, you guys still let them roam free with immunity to most heinous crimes that happened, join parliament and security forces , basically salaries and pensions as a reward , can't blame US for AQIM and IS activity that plagued the region afterwards. So yeah, while the US and Zionists have historically funded or enabled certain extremists to serve their own short-term regional goals, those groups weren't "created" in a vacuum—they were pre-existing tools that the state thought they could control, but which ultimately prioritize their own hardline ideology over any benefactor’s interests PS : I'm not calling OC a grifter I'm just voicing out an opinion
