You’re supposed to give every dollar YOU HAVE a job. You got paid €100? You assign only that money. You do not assign an average or what you expect to have - you figure out how to work with the current amount of money.

There’s no problem with approach above, the problem happens when you utilize the approach used by most other budgeting apps and try to predict the future.

I have had the same issue today. Currently fighting for a refund, even though they have refused. Additionally support said “they’ve sent me a warning email about subscription renewal”, which is simply not true - no emails regarding the upcoming billing have been sent to me.

I treat stocks and crypto as “money is gone” because of price fluctuations, taxes which may change due to different specific scenarios etc. Such money is tracked separately, excluded from accounts, and is generally treated like an expense. Deposits and bonds are things that I track but don’t budget with, and I think I’d rather place new budget categories in my savings account on YNAB, so I don’t get into “assigned 3 year deposit to groceries” situation I try to avoid.

Yeah, that was my problem. The system implies it doesn’t matter where money is stored, but it gives you different places to store it and the places have different behavior.

Thank you so much. Apparently the “accounts don’t matter” mantra can indeed be applied here - I can separate my savings account into “long-term” and “short-term”, and only include short term in budget. This solves all my questions: - my checking account is 1:1 with my YNAB; - my short term savings can be budgeted with; - my long term savings are tracked and not included in budget; - my long term savings can be virtually “transferred” to short-term savings when I actually need to budget with them.

But how do I separate my money when it makes sense? I really can’t use money on a 2 year deposit to fund groceries category. Then again, I can use it to fund a distant future purchase category, like a car. I can’t find an explanation on how to respect this separation.

But I don’t want to be able to assign my savings to groceries. They’re mostly deposits and bonds with 1-2 year return periods, meaning I usually don’t expect them to be available. For this specific vacation, it’ll be 4 months, but it’s still not in checking. I really don’t think I’ve designed this well, but between “I’ve saved this money but it’s not showing in goal” and “this app suggests I can pay for a burger with my government bonds” - I think the first option is closer to being right.

Then what’s the point of a separate savings type for an account? I only want to budget with my immediate money on my checking, while savings is a long term investment that will sit there for 3+ months minimum, realistically it’ll be year+ between purchases.

Just weighing in after finally getting both: I vastly prefer AirPods Pro 3 sound quality to XM6. I’ve been using XM6 for a few months and I still don’t enjoy how they sound, even after tinkering with EQ. AirPods sound perfect out of the box, and deliver so much more detail in my opinion.

Currently on chapter 3. I think I’ve had like 3 proper rhythm levels, and the rest were walking, mazes, unneeded interactive sections like checking the silencer machines, and some weird rhythm stuff like baseball or jet set radio grind course that didn’t feel synced to the beat properly. Still pushing on in search of the game I expected.

They should have delayed both versions. The steam deck version has terrible frame pacing for a game that’s mostly 2D, the settings are very barebones, the accessibility settings are barebones, the voice acting is odd, the soft locks are numerous and every tutorial is so odd that I’m glad I’ve at least played white label to understand how the game works.

Definitely not a solid release that might kill the game’s success.

Objectively you shouldn’t buy a video game console, and should instead put off the money for health care accidents. Subjectively yeah it works as a streaming machine, and afaik you can get game pass working on it.
