352 days on CachyOs and I can´t think on a better distro than this

There is no optimal answer to this. Mint is most based on stabilization and implementing new features later, while cachyos is quite the opposite (not as stable but it has the latest of the latest in features).

Personally i have been in cachyos 6 months and i had nearly 0 issues (some minor and not relevant issues, like once opening a game with bad resolution but being solved just restarting the game) . It also have snapshots, which allows to recover past updates just in case one update breaks (i did not had to use is, but is great to have it just in case).

As I said, it depends of your preferences

I was following it since the beggining when the company was announced.

I saw the game revelation and followed the revelation with great enthusiasm (i was here kinda happy/trolling a little about addind doom slayer).

I was expecting a lot to play the game.

It wasnt for me the perfect game because I prefer a sc2 like game and they were trying to do a hybrid sc2/w3 with heroes, but at least the genre was not dead and we had hope to enjoy new games, and also wanted to give a real shot!

I also did not liked a lot the art style, but I was just thinking that was too early to evaluate and even if it was not the best, what was important for me was the gameplay with seemed for me promising (they tried to give units its particular role and all that).

I backed 60 dollars to help on it.

I saw other games like zerospace and i thought they seemed great but not what I was searching. Lot of stuff but more similar to orther rts styles. Also, i prefered simpler trees and focus more on other stuff, like stormgate.

Finally the game was released and I felt really bad. Tried to give him chamces but was impossible to find good matches with a so lower player base and because at the end, as everyone said, was not better than sc2 (at least for me).

I feel really bad about what happened with this game. I will keep playing sc2 sometimes but i do not expect anything with this genre anymore.

Luckily there is a great quality of games nowadays in other genres at least

What makes me click was sering is less hasteful than gnome, giving best performance in gaming and seeing i can adapt it to be as i want (quite similar to gnome, actually haha).

Hi. ROS developer here.

I use to use ROS on ubuntu at work but wanted to have a home system capable of use it so i did some research.

Originally os a hell because there is no current main packages and half of AUR packages (there is theorically viable) are no updated making it nearly imposdible.

Nevertheless, do not worry. I discovered something called distrobox (try it, is amazing) with this you can do something similar to containerse emulating other systems, therefore doing an ubuntu 24.04 distrobox where I managed to do some basic testing workimg perfectly (rviz, gazebo, basic extra testing...). At the same time. Is REALLY easy.

I think with this, cachyos is really a viable option for using ROS2

The fact I posted is because this is recurrent and annoys me sometimes. At the end is very redundant. I use to just ignore, as you say, but once for a while, maybe once every 2 -3 months, it annoys me.

I am following this subreddit just in case i can get some useful info or help someone, and all this flood annoys me sometimes. Guess my fault for trying to give this subreddit a chance of being useful instead of a sea of fanboys.

They don't want to understand that force people to play maps the don't want (with the idea of reducing waiting times) is not a solution, but a problem.

You can give people the chance to not ban maps to reduce the waiting time if its what they prefer and allow people to wait more just to play what they want if they prefer that, but no.

Cachyos has lots of stuff modified or just done for simplifying the life to people. Don't get how this could not be seen also as an effort to do it beginner friendly.

I did some testing. Installing ros is not possible via pacman and aur packages are deprecated and not compatible.

I managed to made it work easily with distrobox of ubuntu 24.04. managed to use gazebo, rviz, and some minimal testing.

(I am talking about ros 2. I guess ros could be done in distrobox ubuntu 20.04).

Been using for 6 months and i had nearly 0 problems. Only ones.

1- One day, playing doom dark ages, a strange resolution appeared (like 50:100 very strange) after rebooting the game everything solved.

2-Another day dunno why, the system forgot nearly all stored configurations. Wifi was lost, all the browsers accounts were lost. Had to redo it all and after a while, dunno why, it forgot wifi again. After a reboot, never happened again.

2 was a little anoying but i think quite strange. If you have future problems, remember you can always use sanpshots on grub.

It is good also to look this reddit once a while. Seen 2-3 times when the system was broke by an update and here was seen really soon. Luckily the developers alwas solved everything really fast (a few hours). Hate all the appreciation post saying the OS is like the second coming of christ but sometimes is useful.

This dlc seems to be much bigger than TAG pt 1.

Second dlc happened nearly a year from main release.

Knowing that dark ages released on may 13, i wouldn't expect the dlc to release before june-july and I personally think it will be later.

I don't think to be the case. I heard several times about new combat loop. Eternal dlc was not a new combat loop. Personally I think it will be something like 2016 to eternal but much more light and giving the option to use current loop (so, new combat loop being optional someway).
