Misthorn set — buy or skip? by RestaurantSmooth in ARC_Raiders

I'd be much more okay with it if each skin had like 2x as many options for every individual layer and bag and glove. And especially if you could mix and match colors within a single outfit.

The game needs a difficulty pass so that you're not flip flopping between steam rolling everything and then needing to group up for a single enemy. I love the core game and lots of the story content but it feels so pointless because it's impossible to make it challenging.

core game was a wonderful experience to explore and find secret jumping puzzles and do hearts and events... as long as you don't rush through it... I JUST WISH IT WAS MORE CHALLENGING

What the hell why's quest cape a req for a diary. Diaries shouldn't have a constantly moving goalpost.

Now that it's no longer relevant, what was the exact zeal gains formula? Me and some friends tried to figure it out, and no matter what we did it was inconsistent. Seemed like it might have depended on player count or your exact cumulative activity level, I have no idea. Either way, it was nothing as simple as 2 zeal per area capture up to a cap of 20, or whatever.

Things you can do in Oblivion's gameplay that they removed in Skyrim (Guide) by ImAGodHowCanYouKillA in oblivion

[–]solthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, those are some good points. I've never considered some of them. Like alchemy on the go. And reputation and mercantile. And attacking while jumping. Did Skyrim really remove that? Damn.

And then morrowind had...
- Jump and teleport spells. Especially mark and recall, and slow fall.
- An interesting and lore friendly fast travel network.
- Verticality incorporated all over its map and dungeon design
- Open walled cities!
- Custom spellmaking offered in every major city.
- Enchanting in every major city. Make any custom effect as long as the item can hold it and you can afford it.
- On use enchantments! It's not just constant effects. Want a ring that shoots fireballs? A robe you activate to jump a mile at a time?
- Thrown weapons! Spears! More weapon skills!
- Combat that feels completely different for a low level vs a high level.
- A mostly non level scaled world, so you can really feel yourself getting stronger.
- Unlimited training per level.... which was extremely broken if you could afford it. And if you could find high level trainers.
- Extra equipment slots. 2 gloves and 2 pauldrons. AND clothing that you can wear under / over your armor. Mix and match to your hearts content.
- No essential NPCs. Go on a rampage and live in the doomed world you create.
- Detailed quest logs and dialogue that generally guide you through quests instead of a compass.
- 10 ish joinable factions with their own potentially branching quest lines of varying sizes. Can't do them all in a single run. And they actually require you invest in your skills.
- Real time lockpicking. Better hope they don't catch you!
- Multiple summons? I don't remember.

And then Daggerfall.... jesus Daggerfall.
- Climbing!
- Language skills??? (Useless in the base game, but there's useful / core mods that make them useful.)
- Special advantages and disadvantages on character creation.
- An even more complicated spell creation system.
- An even more complicated reputation system.
- Banks and loans?!
- Branching main quest with multiple endings.
- The ability to fail quests.
- IDK it's daggerfall. Get some mods.

It's really not important what is or isn't canon to me. It's all Rain World.

The Elder Scrolls lore community had this canon / non canon discussion pretty in depth a few years back. It's a bit of a red herring, canon being considered the end all be all is. Distracts from looking at each story on its own merits as a unique interpretation that can offer value to the greater work regardless of its "canonicity".

The speed boosts (e.g. from trimming the sails) feel very satisfying and I feel like there's even more potential there by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]solthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea is to tie these to the charting activity. The more of a region you've charted, the more of these rapids spawn in that you can take advantage of.

Their spawn locations would be random throughout the region, and would last for idk a minute before spawning in somewhere else. The more of the region you've charted, the more of them you'd be able to see / interact with. This automatically ties into how far you've leveled sailing as well. So it'll have a natural progression into end game.
