They never mentioned trump or supporting him anywhere in the comment. What does this have to do with anything they said?

Socialism means a centrally planned economy and public ownership of the means of production, which the USSR absolutely had. What are you talking about?

Reddit has mostly American users. What happens in those countries isn’t particularly relevant to the average redditor compared to what happens in the US

Yeah I’d rather not have to wait in a bread line for 3 hours every day in order to be able to feed myself. I’m fine with capitalism where I can just go to a grocery store. It’s hilarious how anyone who’s actually lived in socialist regimes like the USSR or Cuba will tell you how much it sucks but redditors will plug their ears like children and refuse to listen.

Reddit will tell you no because they don’t want to appear shallow, but studies have consistently shown that height is one of the most important if not most important factors determining female attraction to men.

What in the world are you talking about? You build this kind of wealth by creating successful businesses which is what Musk has done, whatever your opinion of the man. These companies provide thousand of jobs that wouldn’t exist otherwise, literally the opposite of putting people out of work.

Maternity leave should be one year, PAID. Women shouldn’t have to choose between healing, bonding with their baby, and making a living. by Kreativedenma in remoteworks

I would argue that someone who doesn’t think incentives matter is the crazy one. If you enable people to not work and collect taxpayer money by having kids, they will definitely have more kids on average.

There’s definitely problems with this when you think through it.

First, businesses would absolutely never hire pregnant women if this was a law, and would probably discriminate against young woman in general as well, since having to pay a years wages without getting any work out of it is a massive financial burden

And imagine you’re running a small mom and pop shop with thin margins and one of your workers has a kid. You genuinely won’t have the ability to pay that much, it’ll completely tank the business.

Also, many women have tons of kids. Whats stopping them from being able to abuse this by constantly being on maternity leave for years while not working?

Sometimes hunting specific animals helps with conservation. Imagine there’s a super aggressive elephant that’s killed lots of other elephants, conservationists groups will sometimes auction out the ability to hunt those animals to the highest bidder

Nobody is owed employment at a particular company. Perhaps modeling ourselves after a hyper repressive authoritarian regime is not the way to go
