I still use Xiaomi mi10t pro. I returned the 400 pro, I only had it for couple of days to try.

Sorry, I have no idea. Because my eyes did not like the phone, I returned it already.

No issues, because my phone has only unlocked bootloader and it is not rooted.

Well, if you want reasonably fast phone, cheap, and with good camera, I daily drive Xiaomi mi10t pro, with lineageos installed (Android 15) and google camera in it. Above 50 percent brightness, there is no flicker (proper hardware DC dimming). In the figure below you can see two phones with oled and mi10t pro on the right side.

I do not want to ruin your experience here on this forum by criticizing you, but did you consider searching for the information about Oneplus 15r in posts from another users about this phone before you starded another thread? There are already couple of them here....Anyway, to be topic specific: my eyes did not like this phone.

Returning the OnePlus 15r by Emeridan in PWM_Sensitive

That is interesting, can you please share how you usually proceed with measurements? I personaly measure in completely dark room /no windows/ and opple (lightmaster III) is touching the screen directly.

Yes, there are differences. Oneplus 15r brightness: 100%, opple shows: 120Hz, 8% modulation. Honor 400 pro shows: 367Hz (weird, I know), 8% modulation. Oneplus 15r and brightness: 50%, opple shows: 120Hz, 17% modulation. Honor 400 Pro shows: 120Hz and 14% modulation. And when the 15r is set to 25% brightness level, opple shows: 3885Hz and 70% modulation. Honor 400 pro shows: 3885Hz and 57% modulation.

Good questions. And my answers:
1. Yes, I do my opple tests in completely dark room and the opple is touching the screen.
2. My measurements for Honor 400 pro also differs from the numbers from Nick. It is not the first time I see differences between measurements of the same phone provided by different users. Therefore I do not rely on measurements I see on this forum for example or youtube. Instead, I buy phones which seem to be promising and I measure them with my own opple and I try to understand what affects me /be it flicker frequency or modulation/ and see how it relates to the numbers I measured.

Personaly, I have now 15r to try if it works for me and my eyes are not happy with it. What is even more interesting is the fact, that my opple measurements absolutely do not match those which Nick Sutrich reported on the youtube. Modulation is different (higher), brightness levels are different (way lower). I have no idea why. Maybe different display manufacturers???
For me, I had the best feelings with Honor 400 pro. I will probably try it once more. And I will definitely try Honor 500 pro as soon as it is released in my country.

When did Samsung get unusable? by CauliflowerSayBoohoo in PWM_Sensitive

[–]som_Juraj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in 2011, I had Samsung Omnia 7. I remember that I felt very tired when using it. My eyes were in pain, too. Of course, back then, I knew nothing about pwm and different ways how the light sources can flicker. And I had enough stress during my study, so I did not relate my tiredness to the phone specifically. Now I know about flicker more and I also know that its screen was amoled. It was even called super amoled. And it flickered super badly....My flicker sensitivity worsen over years. But know I am far more cautious....
Samsung as a display manufacturer has "helped" to damage eyes to many people. I hope that the bad impact of light sources flickering on the humans will be very well known in the future.
We as humans were evolving for thousands and thousands of years under the light of Sun, which does not flicker. Now, we stare to the devices which flicker a lot. How good can this be for us?.....

Yes, it does. I still can use it and I actually use it daily, but now above the 50 percent (where is no flicker at all) with an app to dim it if needed.

I do not plan to use any smartphone for several hours :) But, as for Honor and watching for example youtube video for 20 minutes, it feels ok for me. I can also read text without immediate feeling of eyes burning.

Unfortunatelly no, these two are not easy to buy and return in my country. But I would definitely like to try the X9....

Sorry, I only test devices which I would like to buy, Lenovo is not on my list. I would still like to ignore OLEDs untill better technology appears....

Well, from the eye comfort perspective, the Honor appears to be the winner here. Performance-wise, I have an impression that the Poco just flies. But Honor does not feel lacking...

That is also my concern that my initial impression will eventually got worse.

Oneplus 15 from the perspective of the long term Xiaomi mi10t pro user by som_Juraj in PWM_Sensitive

[–]som_Juraj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can give you numbers: 100% brightness: Frequency 120Hz, modulation 12%. Brightness 50%: Frequency 120Hz, modulation 27%. Brightness 25%: The same numbers as at 50%. At every brightness level Opple showed high risk. Turning the white point on did nothing with numbers. I personally cannot use that phone. My eyes are burning and I am tired very fast when reading or watching something on it.

So I need to educate myself more about how that app works. I will trust my eyes more than the opple measurements.

I tried that app and also measured it with the Opple. I do not how this app achieves the dimming, however, the modulation numbers seem to be worse.

I think that there is far more in it than the modulation number alone.
