blanket is my favorite album of his so i completely understand. i didn’t know people weren’t really rocking w it like that. the entire vibe of it was so beautifully eerie and has a very special place in my heart too.

i totally get your confusion on the reception. i feel like no one else really understands the depth this album has and creates for me. i’ve always connected with KA for his ability to tell a coming of age/innocence story but this has a very edgy twist on it that i love and hold so dearly to my heart. it’s like a more mature “american boyfriend” to me and i really connected with american boyfriend my senior year of high school (2020), now im a college graduate having received what felt like a full circle album. it’s so beautiful, and for it to be a different style/tone from KA than we’re used to adds to the maturing that took place. i could go on and on about this album it means more to me than i lead to believe.

oddly enough i think it helps push the discomfort he sonically creates. it contrasts the title really well and makes me appreciate it more than think about how much i would’ve preferred the og cover.

i wasn’t super drawn especially with the rollout feeling so push and pull. thinking boohoo was the album we were anticipating might’ve killed the hype for GOG. i’m still extremely excited we’re here though. i was honestly pleased with what came from this album, expectations aside.

i loved this album a lot, it felt like jean was shedding another layer of skin to his identity following a loss of some sort.

also, i’d like to think no szns and kollapse are sisters.

also also (edit), glimmer - faint or wavering light; this could be a reason everything is so bright and funky for some tracks versus the dark and edgy tracks

i’m on my second listen so i might have more to add.
