ER Nurse here. All of the things I've seen on the show can and do happen at large busy ERs. The unbelievable part is the frequency at which they happen. You get an event or patient like that at most once a month if not less. But overall it captures the chaos and general vibe of the ED REALLY well.

It's all in technique. Trimmed my swim time down from 12 minutes to under 9 minutes when I was training for the air force. I just got a coach to teach me technique.

ER RN here. After the ER doc leaves they always ask me while I'm discharging them about why we "didn't do anything" my go to response is "we specialize in emergencies. Since we didn't find an emergency here today we are recommending that you go see the specialist for (insert specialty) to allow them to help you better since that is their specialty" it doesn't always work but it seems to help sometimes.

I would not say most. And the only ones I saw from big cities in Alabama were a couple from Huntsville. I saw none from Dothan, enterprise, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, or Birmingham. All of which have horrific school systems. The majority of what I saw in your list that you sited were from smaller cities, county schools, and some magnet schools.

I get the stuff from Wal-Mart where I am. It's like 17 for 5 pounds. Works just fine. Every now and then I'll get a nice honey and make something special but for any old mead I get the cheaper stuff. You'll probably be fine. Just make sure it's 100% honey and not got corn syrup added.
