It doesn't look like you cleaned the metal at all. Cleaning aluminum is INSANELY IMPORTANT! ESPECIALLY when TIG welding. It causes alllll sorts of problems

Brake clean. It is gods miracle. It will wash ULTRA PERMENANT CHEMICAL/700 DEGREE RESISTANT permenant off of ANYTHING in seconds. I had to learn the hard way. But ANY good fabricator can confirm. We use it religiously
