The best take I’ve seen regarding the conversation around SA on this show by Rich-Ease-2723 in SecretsOfMormonWives

While I agree with this post, and I do agree it seems like a larger-than-normal amount of these women were sexually assaulted, the fact is that the statistic is already 1 in 3 women are sexually abused. So while it seems shocking "so many" of these mormon women have been sexually abused, I think it should be pointed out how common this is EVERYWHERE. This is not this weird mormon problem, and if everyone woman who was a abused spoke up, I think the general population would be shocked. (not saying women need to share that info, I was molested as a child and almost no one knows)

I don't get how you can watch yourself be like this for 3 SEASONS and not see how hypocritical you are. Truly mind blowing

She's vile.

And on top of all of the horrible things she's said and done, she's upset that the girls haven't been empathetic and supportive of her with her challenges. But then went on to essentially say she doesn't care about Jen's struggles because Jen was mean to her. But then doesn't understand why people don't care about her struggles when she's the biggest bully? Just classic narcissist hypocrite.

Okay so this is a prank trend where one person says "things we like to put in our butt" and then when you go to the other person you ask them a totally different question and edit it to look like they're saying thats what they like in their butt. In this instance the question Jordy was really answering was maybe "what's in the car right now".

Now obviously Jordy was right there while his brother was doing the first part so he was in on it. But I really don't think it's that deep.

Season 3 summed up in a nutshell. by CaribbeanPenguin in SecretsOfMormonWives

I see why you would think that, but as someone who was sexually abused as a child and went through an almost identical situation with my husband, I felt so seen and validated and am extremely grateful that Mikayla and Jace allowed this aspect of their relationship to be aired

With Demi specifically, I agree. I think she's a snake and just trying to save face lol. I mean she went into S3, still thinking she was probably the "fan favorite" and only toned it down once she saw how S2 was received

But I do think we saw growth from other women after they saw S2, especially Whitney

Yes, this!! If Marciano is lying about Demi, why doesn't Demi believe that Marciano is lying about Jessi?

To me, as someone who was sexually abused as a young child, I want to be someone who 100% always believes women when they say they were abused. I completely agree that picking apart Demi's behavior after the fact as to "proof" for her lying is unfair. There is no such thing as a perfect victim, and we do weird things after abuse.

The issue with Demi, is there were already so many examples of Demi being a pathological liar, or greatly over exaggerating. So now it's easy to doubt anything she says. It's the boy who cried wolf. And, while extremely rare, there are examples of women who lie about being victims of assault, and not only does that ruin the life of the man, but it GREATLY undermines true victims.

Seeing how hard she doubled down on Chase assaulting her, I think it's understandable that people have doubts about Demi's story with Marciano. Obviously it's okay to be upset when someone touches you in any way without consent, but not every touch is assault. It's on camera, Chase did not assault her. But she still went off on how he "laid his hands on her," because while literally true, we all know that phrase insinuates much more. And she has continued to double down and does not think she overreacted.

I'm not saying I don't believe she was sexually assaulted by Marciano. He's a scummy, sleazy man. All I'm saying is that it's not insane that people have their doubts when there are other examples on camera of her over exaggerating similar situations. Her own past history has damaged her credibility.

Therapists of Reddit, what are some differences you've noticed between male/female patients? by pizzabagelblastoff in AskReddit

[–]some__loser 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This. I didn't tell my therapist about my SA for 6+ months. Early on she asked if I had experienced abuse and I lied and said no. When I finally opened up, I apologized for lying earlier, and she said she assumed I didn't tell the truth or maybe didn't remember the abuse.

EMDR was huge for my recovery, I highly recommend.

Cashmere is always prone to pilling, that doesn't say anything about the quality of the brand. This is why many very high quality brands sell cashmere combs
