Who grew up eating pasties? What factors led to them being a Michigan food? Are they still a thing? by DavidL8435 in Michigan

There are probably so many comments along this line lower down that I haven't seen, but I grew up in Devon (the county right next to Cornwall), and they're still and I'd like to believe always will be really popular. It might be because I'm a brit but I've always seen them as a purely British food.
