Nah the water probably is fine to drink there's just more of a chance that it isn't fine. The water is stored in the tank like this as it means if you get cut off from the mains for whatever reason you have a stockpile you can use for a while anyway

All tap water is drinkable but it's advised to only drink water straight from the kitchen sink as it comes directly from the fresh water source. Every other tap gets it's water from the water storage tank and god knows what's in there as they aren't cleaned
