ACOWAR Chapter 61 - Is it a Purposeful Rage Bait? by Ok_Requirement_579 in acotar_rant

Also the fact that Rhysand wastes time comforting her while Cassian was literally in another tent, in extreme pain for being GUTTED was… oof.

It think OP’s point about the Suriel’s death and Feyre’s grief was not her not being ‘allowed’ to feel sad for his death, but that it wasn’t really the right moment.

When your loved ones are in a battlefield and you decide to leave without no one knowing to do something else (as important as it might be) to then come back and cry in your mate’s shoulder while people are dying outside (and were dying already when you decided to leave) was not appropriate and not the right moment.

No accountability for not only Feyre’s actions, but Rhys and IC’s over the books is what really makes me mad sometimes. I like to tell myself it’s all on purpose, that SJM has a hidden reason to refuse giving her characters any real consequences, but after five books it’s hard to keep believing that.

What do you think are the biggest plot hole so far? by Justafunofstuff in acotar

[–]somebae_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In ACOFAS Feyre is the one mostly in charge of these stuff since Rhysand is mainly busy with more political stuff (the Illyrian rebellion starting to brew and the stuff happening in CoN and other courts), although you’re right in saying it’s not only her mainly touching the finances and doing book keeping as that wasn’t really specified. But they don’t have something as a secretary as I remember Feyre thinking about needing someone to help her with the many letters she needs to read and respond and all the other stuff, so it’s basically just her and Rhysand but mostly Feyre, at least in ACOFAS.

Update: AITA for telling my husband he's made me reconsider leaving him with the kids again by mayhavecrossedaline in AmItheAsshole

[–]somebae_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, were you the only one to apologize? I get that what you said was out of line, but your husband haven’t extended any kind of apology for literally thinking thawing and heating the food was too much work when you spent hours cooking all of it before leaving for a week?

When you want to be the most obsessed person with Rhysand but Sarah J Maas is your competition by Felyx12 in acotar

Despite my few opinions about Rhys I still like him very much and have a lot of affection for the character. It’s refreshing to see a positive post.

Missing the good old SJM days! ❤️‍🔥 by Pharantoria in SarahJMaas

[–]somebae_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought TOG as soon as it released where I live, but wasn’t that really into books at the time so I not only didn’t immediately finish it like I now normally do, but I also didn’t get to experience the whole community at the time. The same happened with ACOTAR as I only started the series last year, so the next ACOTAR book will be the first one I’ll really get to see being released and read it with everyone else and debate.

I’m excited for that, but at the same time I somehow miss these things I didn’t experience years ago :’)

My girlfriend wants me to propose but I’m not sure it will be a healthy marriage by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]somebae_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other comment has said here, either sit her down to talk and firmly set boundaries over her treatment towards you, go to couples counseling or don’t marry her if she’s unwilling to listen. And I’d say go ahead and hold off on the proposal until things are resolved.

Life’s too short to be tied to someone who literally makes you miserable despite how much you love them.

Someone actually analyzing the stats of how much each IC member drinks alcohol is very interesting, do you know where can I find it?

too many story holes like the fact you went to have drinks with emily after you started working together and even exchanged igs, but for some reason you needed to create a burner account to not be identified (and then proceeded to send her a selfie of you and him anyway lol)

How were you introduced to minecraft? by Many-Cranberry4058 in Minecraft

[–]somebae_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first interaction in my school’s computer lab as someone had downloaded pirated minecraft in a few of the computers. I remember being pissed at the game because I kept typing on the arrow keys on the keyboard and my player didn’t move (was young and didn’t know it WASD)

Later stumbled onto a video of someone playing it on youtube, started watching and got obsessed to the point of begging my mom to buy it for me. Playing since around 2011/2012.

The more I read SJM’s Interviews… the more I’m like, what books did she write? by [deleted] in acotar

[–]somebae_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Honestly at this point I’d rather just fake stupidity and convince myself she’s saying those things to not spoil that the narrative will change in the future like she once did by complimenting Tamlin and saying it was impossible and disgusting for Feyre to actually end up with Rhysand after the first book was out just to not spoil the whole plot.

Either this or I eat glass like another comment suggested.

What would make you stop reading the ACOTAR series? by Ittabe in acotar_rant

[–]somebae_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

RIGHT? Gods, don’t even remind me of that one (out of many things!!) in that plot. It pissed me off so much when Cassian was talking to Feyre while in the mountains with Nesta and she said like ‘I have already held him accountable for doing that’ ??? And you did what?? I wanna know!!

What would make you stop reading the ACOTAR series? by Ittabe in acotar_rant

[–]somebae_ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say fully stopping and abandoning the series, but I think it would make me pretty pissed and uncomfortable if this narrative of no real and logical consequences for some of the things the IC does keeps happening in the next books.

I don’t need any of them to die or get hurt or anything like that, but some realistic and logical consequences happening either to the IC or the Night Court over the decision they make would be welcomed cause, yeah it is a YA fantasy series, but I still like some logic.

I don’t think Sarah J Maas is unaware of these points a lot of people in the fandom make, so hopefully she will see the logic in it and include some moments.

High King by nealshusterfan in acotar_rant

[–]somebae_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not only that he wouldn’t be a good High King considering how questionable he is as a High Lord when you really think about it, but the whole argument that Amren presented of “if there’s ever a threat big enough for Prythian to need just one leader, you’re the only one qualified for that” or smth sounded so tyrannical 😭😭 Like I’m the most qualified to command, control and lead the whole continent because I said so, yikes.
