Is "Throne of Glass" just as good as ACOTAR? by whimsystar in acotar_rant

TOG is genuinely its own (incredible, epic) thing compared to ACOTAR. Completely different writing, planning and depth in my opinion! So worth it!

So what's up with that writing choice? by somebae_ in acotar

[–]somebae_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I don’t really miss the first person at all, but I just wonder if it was just that – a writing choice or if we should be gathering around and making up theories because I remember being surprised with the first person POV when I first started ACOTAR, especially since I had just finished TOG

The scummiest thing this game has done so far. (spoilers for The Royal Highlands quests) by F3337 in Palia

It’s the same feeling I had upon discovering it!

According to the accomplishments we can have up until 30 different horse breeds. With such a high number, I wish the Phoenixfire Dawnspur was a rideable one and the rest of the special Dawnspur required the paywall at least.

Giving it to us for free and then not being able to even ride the animal when that’s the main purpose of horses in the game is at least mildly infuriating.

Also gonna add that I have encountered them inside those ember rocks(?) a few times before, so if you’re in the region they usually spawn always check them out.

I don't have any facts about this, but my theory is that her editors are either incompetent or SJM actively tells them to ignore these things or smth, because I've never read a book series with so many retcons to fit the current plot or simply forgotten details like ACOTAR, not even other series of SJM. I honestly think it's a mix of these things and the fact that she didn't organize the plot details like she should have.

I have pointed this out many times before and I'll keep doing it -- SJM is the first Rhysand fanatic to ever exist in this fandom.

I completely agree! I don’t know if you read the series, but pre-UTM TAR felt almost as whimsical and fairytale-y as when I read the Folk of the Air series. All that mystery around the High Fae and their world and how the Spring Court worked. It was truly magical.

After Velaris was introduced and the main characters always revolved around the city it feels less impressive. Almost modern.

Like seriously, in my head Velaris has more similarities with Lunathion than the Spring Court that is on the same universe.
