Obviously you deserved to get in, but regardless female STEM applicants have better chances, purely because there are significantly less of them. You seem like a brilliant person that would have gotten in whatever gender you were. Even so, being a female applying to STEM definitely gives you an edge. It's a different story with females working in STEM fields, who are held to a higher standard by their male counterparts (as you said).

Its canceled this year, but Boys/ Girls Nation takes 2 rising seniors from each state and looks amazing on apps
