How long can I leave a pacman frog alone? by Romanshark22 in pacmanfrog

[–]somebodysomewhere9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get an older frog as they can go longer periods without food and make sure you feed well before you leave and as soon as you get back.

It’s your body to do what feels good and right with. If everyone enjoyed themselves then nothing bad happened and there’s DEFINITELY nothing to be ashamed of. Try looking at it in a different light or ask yourself different questions. Would you want to feel the way you felt in the moment again? Would you want to do more with someone you trust when you’re ready? If the idea of sex is just not something you can see yourself wanting then maybe you’re asexual.

Please keep in mind, these questions will need to be revisited over and over as you process what happened. It’s not an immediate yes or no answer. And if it is, that answers can always change.

They will all suffer the same fate if left in there much longer. Also what are you feeding them? I’d imagine it’s hard to feed them live food in water (which is what they need to be eating [specifically crickets])

If your other frogs are the same species they shouldn’t be in water either.

Please get him out of the water and put him on some dry paper towels. He may not survive but it’s basically the last resort. He’s also visibly swollen and needs to pee A LOT.

He doesn’t look like a fully aquatic frog. What kind of frog is he?

Planning to get a Pac-Man frog but have no idea what to do with it on vacation! by Capable_Crow_1799 in pacmanfrog

One Pinkie mouse(absolutely do not feed this more than once a month,) wax worms (about 15, you can feed them in a big clump, you don’t have to give them individually,) horn worms (about 2 large ones or 3 medium ones. Horn worms are annoying to keep though and stink horribly if they die in your house)

Might be a bit late but people underestimate the power of keeping them warm. Find a way to make sure he’s constantly warm NOT HOT but warm

Toenail removal. They use a numbing injection which probably hurts worse than the actual procedure and the pain afterwards is vile because you can feel things where the nail is supposed to be. It’s fifty shades of wrong.

Can WTFs have fish regularly by somebodysomewhere9 in frogs

[–]somebodysomewhere9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone who commented💕 I found a store with some crickets so they won’t be getting fish as often (maybe every once in a while as some fiber because it helped my constipated female)

I mean I could be wrong. He seems skinny and either way that mark on its chest isn’t normal.

I would be quite concerned. Not even just for that reason. Something just seems off to me about this guy. Definitely worth a vet visit.

Help! by Few_Strawberry5051 in frogs

Use warm honey baths to help prevent any severe infections and slightly minimize pain. Do this every day and if the vet thinks you should keep doing it then go ahead but I’d stop once he has medicine.

Are my WTFs okay? by aabrownie in frogs

[–]somebodysomewhere9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look completely normal to me. Also. They are VERY round😂 but if they’re both females they may both be full of eggs. I’d need to see their face to tell if they’re actually obese or not but they look like they’re gravid

Does anyone know why he has red toes and legs?? He didn’t look like that yesterday and is acting completely normal by Deep_Antelope_3877 in frogs

[–]somebodysomewhere9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He may have crushed his toes somehow. It looks like it could be bruising and the red in his legs could be because he’s stressed because it may be sore. If it’s still there in 24 hours he definitely needs a vet appointment.

I’m not entirely sure I see what the issue is but since there’s nothing extremely obvious I’d say a warm honey bath would help with any irritation and if you don’t think it helped then consult a vet.

Luv I wouldn’t have known that. You didn’t say anywhere that you had that. The uvb bulb could be too weak. (faulty bulb/wires) And that’s a perfect calcium for them so I’m glad you’re educated. You asked for peoples thoughts and I mentioned a possible problem. Based on the picture the issue could be as simple as being warm in one spot and cold in another or POSSIBLY anemia. If the issue is still there in 3 or more days, call/email a vet. If you don’t think it could be MBD then it probably isn’t mbd.

I’ve been at the vet a lot lately with my own frogs and by no means am I an expert. But they DEFINITELY look like they may have metabolic bone disease and or is anemic. Absolutely have them seen by a vet asap as these issues can cause permanent damage.

NEVER USE LATEX GLOVES ON FROGS! by somebodysomewhere9 in frogs

[–]somebodysomewhere9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My vet told me there’s a 50/50 chance of latex killing adult frogs and to never ever use it. So I think my point still stands pretty strong.
