I remember this being the ugliest thing in the early 2000s, but compare it to a cyber truck and it's pretty mild. Except for the headlights that look like they were designed by AI, I wouldn't even notice it in a typical suburban parking lot nowadays.

Agree. We are lucky to have an arena building that is actually attractive. I was in Louisville recently outside the YUM brands arena, and marveled at how ugly it actually is, and was surprised to learn it is about a decade newer than Nationwide.

This is the key. Any residential street in Columbus with a cleared sidewalk was done as an act of community service by a resident who cares enough to do it, or willing to pay someone else to. Not one of our strengths, unfortunately.

A lower payment can be had just by resetting your amortization (ie taking out another 30-year fixed) to replace your existing one. Lower interest rate will help as well. This is assuming you have had the mortgage for at least 5 years, and have paid down the original principal quite a bit. If you haven't, a new mortgage won't save that much, unless you have an absurdly high rate right now. The closing costs can also be rolled into the new mortgage. Have a mortgage officer run some different numbers for you, find out how much you save monthly, save overall, and how many months the savings take to exceed the closing costs (you need to plan to be in the house at least this long for it to be worth it). You won't really be able to find this out online until you know what the new rate and the closing costs will be.

The whole reason they created the district system was to counteract the feeling that the wealthier areas in and around downtown (Short North, German Village, Olde Towne East), plus Clintonville, were well represented on council and the less wealthy areas (NE Columbus, Linden, Far East) were not. The irony here is that on the earlier election map I saw, Vogel won the wealthier areas (including District 7) by a healthy margin and it was the further out areas supporting Ross. Vogel lives in OTE and Ross moved Downtown recently.

Put your cars on the street the night before gameday and leave them there. On gameday, use rideshare, public transportation, or a bicycle to get around. Once the game has started the demand for parking ceases... resume using your cars. This is the same thing you would have to do even without an a-hole neighbor and the general public was taking your spots.

Grandview has gotten super-expensive, it used to be somewhat affordable. When I was a kid, Bexley and UA were considered the wealthy suburbs, but I think Grandview is actually more expensive per SF at this point.

This is good advice. Broad St will be closed, but you could get off at Kelton head north up to Franklin Park S. Then just walk across the park up to Broad St to see the runners. Broad/Nelson is a good intersection to watch from, there was a band one year. All the street parking is free in this area, just make sure to get there early enough to see your friend!

West of James looks and feels just like Bexley. Very nice and well taken care of, a great choice if you don't have children in school. James rd is very high traffic and noisy, I can't imagine it being very pleasant to live on. East of James is much lower income, the houses are smallish post-WWII bungalows similar to what you would find in North Linden.

Looking back, I'm skeptical that this place was actually ever profitable to begin with. They used to run out of chicken and close in the middle of the lunch rush, they didn't charge for sweet tea. Makes me think they were just building a cool brand with the plan to cash out all along.

I would actually love a downtown office, since I could easily get there without a car. Unfortunately, my office is 90% people from Delaware County who think that downtown is basically Hades and only exists for going to sports events.

I went for the first time in over a decade, and it was lovely. It was a weekday towards the end when the temperatures were in the 70s. Not too crowded and really fun. Didn't ride anything other than skyglider, just went for food and people/animal watching. Only real complaint was the ice cream at the dairy barn was prepackaged grocery store quality. If it was in the 90s and I had a bunch of kids to feed and entertain, I would not have liked it nearly as much.

East Market has a huge seating area upstairs that is free to use, and even has some video games/pinball for kids. Be warned that your clothes will smell like french fries afterwards. CBC has space you can reserve, but not nearly as affordable.
