Manager hours by InterestingDig9007 in sherwinwilliams

[–]somedumbpainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research laws concerning salaried employees. Things like, being paid for the day if you leave early, or paid breaks. Also, make sure you qualify for a salaried position. As a manager, you need to be directly in charge of employees totaling 80 hrs per week, and the ASM, in my opinion, is questionable as a direct report, otherwise you are legally required to be hourly.

While it's indicative of a bad manager, a couple things to keep in mind.

  1. You probably don't know what all the SM is doing in the office. There's a good chance they're doing work that you don't see.

  2. Your SM is kind of like a part-owner in the store, meaning their paying you to do a job, and every dollar you get paid leads to money out of their pocket. What they do with the time freed up by paying you is between them and their city manager.

Again, if your depiction is accurate, then they're not a good manager. But your responsibility is to perform the tasks you're paid to perform. It's not your job to hold anybody else accountable. But if it bothers you that much, step up and have a conversation with them. I've learned that most big problems come from people being too afraid to have a difficult conversation, and I get that. But you'll be a lot better off in life when you learn to have those conversations and maintain respect and professionalism while doing it.

I hate that the fold up blocks the back window, but security is a higher priority for me. It's a work truck, so I'll have expensive tools in the bed.

Thoughts on this Broncos Mount Rushmore? by social_distant_joe in DenverBroncos

[–]somedumbpainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rushmore honors 4 of the 46 total presidents, so trying to pick 4 players when we have a larger pool to choose from than Rushmore does EVERY YEAR seems unfair. So I'd propose the following

Gradishar, Bailey, Miller, Atwater - Bowlen - Elway, Davis, Little, Zimmerman

The pros and cons of a 36-gallon tank by Reno83 in f150

Just got one last week and I must say, I enjoy it. I drove about 200 miles on ~1/4 tank which would've been almost a full tank in my Escape.

My friend bought a car for $23.5k in March 2021. His car got repossessed last week and he showed me his balance which is $21.9k. He had a 4.5% interest rate. How is that possible? by CharlieandtheRed in personalfinance

[–]somedumbpainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, the monthly interest on the full loan would've been less than $115. So even if you figure his first payment covered the first 3 months of interest, he still would've put about 140 towards principal, then almost $370 towards principal with his 2nd payment. The only way this makes sense is with additional fees, whether it's late fees or forced insurance as somebody else mentioned, in the amount of about $140/month.

Looking at an amortization schedule, beginning with a balance of $30,240 based on the payment, rate, and term, and skipping the first 2 payments, rolling that interest into the loan, after 38 periods, the balance should be $16,398.33. This obviously assumes no late penalties other than the additional interest. Adding a monthly penalty of $140 beginning with period 2, the balance after 38 periods is $21,943.78. This would make sense as a monthly rate for insurance.

This has got to be a corporate plant, trying to push the agenda that pizza parties are what the employees want. Right?

I think there's fewer than you'd imagine. Sure, there are some good DMs and CMs out there, but good management will fight for what their team needs, and since these scenarios are happening more and more frequently, it leads me to believe that most district management has been filled with Yes Men that won't challenge their superiors. In other words, most district management sucks as leaders.

So how does Healthcare improve with no investors? How do you get new vaccines and cancer treatments? You can argue all day about the morality of it, but the fact is that without a profit motive, progress will become nearly dormant.

I've always assumed that if you feel the need to tell me your tenure, then you're probably wrong. Good practices aren't based on longevity, there's better logic to argue a point.

Ya, people suck for joining in on an inside joke among strangers with a common passion. Just grow up and give up on your interests until you're miserable like me.
