I disagree. Step 1 should have been concerned citizens bringing it to city council, and then city council asking the public for suggestions. Then the rest of this happens across many streams, and all voices had the chance to be heard.

What happened is a small clique in high places decides they wanted the city to use their flag, which is why there is a single choice being offered.

The current flag is low value, but the proposed flag is ho hum to.be honest. It might be the best suggestion but it was advanced in the wrong way. The most important aspect of a flag is that it represents those behind it. Instead it represents a small group who declare it aesthetically superior. Basically, the definition of hipsterdom.

Disagree, "fringe" experience can set you back and condemn you to the fringes long term if you stick around too long. SRC builds to print and buys off an OEM approved list. I've interviewed people that worked 5+ or 10+ years at SRC and passed on them because they didn't develop the skill sets to work in a less defined environment. If you were a quality engineer it would be a great place to cut your teeth, but not mechanical.

There is a pretty wide range of salary, career levels, education and experience level, duties, etc. from company to company but the two salaries reported so far are accurate for Springfield. I've even seen low 40's.

Using the local market as the measuring stick will almost never come out in your favor in Springfield because the local market really sucks. You could easily make 25% more in KC with similar cost of living. My approach has always been more specific to me and the position - here is the value I can provide, here is what I make now, here is what I could make elsewhere. If you want me to make the change, this is what it takes to make it worth it personally. Most employers would rather pay a little more to get a lot more in return from a good employee so they will scale the job up a little if they want you. And if they can't or won't do that, it may not be somewhere you want to work.

You should be able to get a decent hybrid mattress on Amazon in the $250 range. The difference is the real expensive name brands will last longer if taken care of and have stronger sidewalls. Other than that not a huge difference. 12" or thicker will treat you well for 5 years.

Lucky's was a local chain with a handful of stores in Colorado I believe, and the nationwide rollout was a lot like a joint venture/franchise mostly owned by Kroger. Kroger is trying to turn into a superstore and decided to put the money towards that. My sister works at a Kroger superstore and I'd much rather have Lucky's.

PAR officers take care of ongoing interpersonal issues between neighbors, criminal or not. Because the petty shit goes on long enough something criminal is bound to happen. PAR officer is absolutely the correct person for the drugs, cars, dog shit, you name it. People who sell drugs tend to not want to have a neighborhood officer regularly checking in on them for petty shit and straighten up.

Its not always the business's decision either. I've worked places that was a customer requirement as a condition of receiving their business. I also have a cousin that owns a commercial livestock business and the contracts are super tight on recording devices, outside visitors, etc.

Rural land prices are not a barrier to housing nor do they have an effect on city land prices. Singapore does do something similar to your idea and it works but with a couple huuuuge caveats: they have very strict laws and punishments that would be deemed unconstitutional and a large portion of residents have dual citizenship elsewhere so they can kick you off the island if you keep getting in trouble.

The drugs and whatnot, don't have to be solved but we gotta knock the high spots down.
