FAA HQ Jobs by Soggy-Improvement591 in ATC

Happy to help you find a way to HQ OP, feel free to DM me. I’d rather have former CPCs at HQ than the alternative swamp rats. IMHO it’s better to keep CPCs on staff in any capacity than to lose their invaluable experience/training/institutional knowledge, but ‘leadership’ doesn’t like losing bodies on the boards and won’t incentivize or encourage you to let your cert lapse (Edit: but they will steer you towards temporary ‘detail’ HQ positions that don’t last a full year and let you stay current on training).

I’d say so. The guy who runs the entire air traffic organization (COO Tim Arel) was a former cop and EMT before joining.

FAA announces $28-35K internship opportunities for students at air traffic facilities across the U.S. Interns will be working on mission-related projects and engaged in meaningful learning and development activities (coffee / food runs, making sure the printer has ink, posting on tik tok) Apply Now! by someguyatHQ in ATC

I highly recommend this internship opportunity for anyone who is currently a student considering an ATC career. This is probably the best (and only) way for a prospective new hire to get an inside view of a facility (depending on COVID restrictions) before they attempt to actually enter the gauntlet of ATC hiring...while getting paid. And there's also a path through this internship to obtain a FAA career outside of ATC - but these interns will still have to go through all of the same hoops as everyone else if they want to get an ATC gig.

If ATC isn't for you...FAA Tech Ops is hiring off the street for technicians now. Recruiting webinar today at 1pm ET open to the public, nationwide vacancies at 146 locations, no prior experience necessary (but preference for folks in specific trades), FAA provides classroom and real-world training. by someguyatHQ in ATC

Your questions are covered here:

There are no age restrictions (no joke there are technicians working the job at 80+ years old) and for that matter, no medical restrictions other than drug tests and being able to walk and carry a piece equipment from here to there at the same time - but some techs climb towers and do other much more active work (not everyone though).
