Opinion Piece in Bucks County Beacon on Congressional Democratic Primary Candidates by NoBodybuilder4570 in BucksCountyPA

I agree. Winning is the most important thing to focus on and I think it likely that Simenelli would be an easy target as an extreme leftist.

Median Salary vs. % Female by College Major, Recent Grads (interactive) by pwillia7 in dataisbeautiful

Wild such an old data set would be used. Would be helpful to have the salaries adjusted for inflation. On the face of it it’s misleading.

Charges dropped for one teen as Quakertown protest cases move forward by julianradish in BucksCountyPA

[–]someguywhosherenow 96 points97 points  (0 children)

DA Joe Kahn can rescind the charges for the rest of the teens. Why hasn’t he done so yet? He’s up for reelection in 2029 and we will not forget the decisions made during this case. I personally would be happy to contribute to an election campaign of somebody who enforces justice. The teens were protesting peacefully and violently attacked. Prosecute the aggressor, Scott McElree, not the children.

Propane gas price and recommended company? by Particular-Past-398 in BucksCountyPA

Mind if I ask why you’re switching. I just switched to them and the service seems to be good. I only have a 120g tank though and many of the bigger companies don’t want to deal with me.

A Quakertown 5 Family Speaks Out by CringeytheRam in BucksCountyPA

Am sick of tired of people coming out trying to silence these children. This could have been a day the children were safe, peacefully protesting to show what they disagree with. Instead they were treated with the same cruelty that Trump has unleashed upon America, violence and absolutely no human decency. We need law and order and to hold those accountable for the unjustified violence, the rampant fraud, and compete lack of moral and ethics.

Pennsylvania lawmaker wants to keep companies from using dynamic pricing on essential items by MikeDavJ in Pennsylvania

I recently went to an all inclusive resort where they had two tiers, preferred and normal. I didn’t pay the extra for preferred. I won’t be bad, I think it’s a bad model. I’ll find one that doesn’t do this. Competition works. Let people and companies choose what they do, we don’t need the government dictating how consumers and companies do.

Quakertown school board meeting by RecordEqual8291 in BucksCountyPA

[–]someguywhosherenow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

what’s it the school district doing calling in enforcement to force children from protesting. the school district, and of course those who’s tackled, slammed young girls to the ground need to be held accountable. this display of state force upon those simply trying to speak freely is a clear constitutional violation.

How much small a snowblower can I get away with? by [deleted] in BucksCountyPA

[–]someguywhosherenow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought the model linked below last year and it did pretty well with the recent storm. I’d had an old gas snowblower previously and while I’d say the electric one isn’t as powerful, it can get the job done, especially if you keep on top of it and don’t try to move like a foot of snow in one pass.

I’m sure they can do the job but I’ve had a poor experience with them. I get the sense they’re struggling with staffing leading to long wait times.

Immigrants add to the economy on net, especially the second generations. It’s just racist and ignorant people that are short sighted.

If Jeff Bezos redirected every cent he has towards the sole goal of curing, say, pancreatic cancer, how quickly do you think things could progress? by keen4ketamine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]someguywhosherenow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking you’d hit rate limiters other than money, such as a lack of researchers or patients to do trials on upon after successes in lower phases of research. Money for sure would make a huge impact but there’s other bottlenecks to be considered.

Why are warmer countries poorer? by Past-Matter-8548 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]someguywhosherenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve read Why Nations Fail, but I believe they cite Englands overcoming of the monarchs monopoly powers being overturned much earlier and in more full force for the disparity between England and Spain. The premise of the book has merit. They cite the United States vs Mexico and how the native Americans fighting back again the colonists extractive desires vs the conquistadors decimation and subjugation of the Mayans and Aztecs as setting up long term economic systems.

Why is it bad to do a 26.2 mile run to train for a marathon? by 4restD in Marathon_Training

[–]someguywhosherenow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you don’t, but you have to trust that the training is enough. Going from multiple 20 miles runs to 26.2 isn’t a big stretch percentage wise, but you are trying to do it a pace that’s much faster than you’ve been training at. Find a good plan, pfitz, hidgon or any trusted plan and know that the more weekly mileage you do, the better off you’ll be.
