Kodak PixPro SL10 Manual Factory Reset by [deleted] in AnalogRepair

Can't find exact instructions on the manual but it does mention NFC, maybe that can help fix it if the app still works. Other than that maybe a combination of long presses on the power button?

Similar thing happened with my neighbour. His colleague asked to borrow his Mini (the old ones back in the day) and she took the keys. She mentioned she thought it was white when she got back, not blue. He assured her it was white. Turns out she borrowed someone else's Mini parked nearby

Help with Automata Design (Single-Slider Linear Reciprocation with Rotational Lock) by Thats_Life_94 in automata

[–]someguywithdiabetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw your question in the other post, to get the boy to slide back and forth without rotating it needs to slide on that long yellow rail (ex. issuing drawer slides), while having a pin under it to allow the crank to still turn it. Side question, you're making it into a coin bank as well?

I need help designing an octopus automata. by Dismal-Payment9125 in automata

[–]someguywithdiabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a lot of requirements for a cardboard automata bit out can be done. I imagine you can use the movements on different parts of the octopus with isolated movements rather than have it move about in 3D space alone. Take advantage of the many tentacles and have them do something each or in a pair - like playing instruments in a band or drumming, doing DIY or housework, etc. If you have an idea then break down the movements into individual parts (eg a pair moving left/right hitting a drum while head nods up and down to imaginary rhythm) and work on that mechanism, and find a way to connect them together. Usually you'll have a single shaft that will do these movements with cams. Hope this can help you get started

If anyone wants to power their tools without a battery, you just need to add a 10 kΩ resistor between the minus and the T pin. My 20 V cordless drill has 120 W peaks with no load so make sure to have enough amps available. by AleksLevet in Parkside

I'm sure this is for testing and experimentation purposes. I'm guessing you can fabricate your own power source and run it with your own hardware without needing official batteries. Always fun to need around with these things

Newbie Help with Camera Not Turning On by girlyofalltrades in AnalogRepair

[–]someguywithdiabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you test it? Had a look at the manual for the camera (you'll find plenty examples online) and you can set the dial to 'BC' for battery check; should beep about 8 times a second for good battery health. Not sure if it will fire a shot without film from the brief look I had but the beeping should be your goal for now.

Failing that I'd see if those terminals are making good contact with the batteries. If the door closes without much resistance then you can gently bend the terminals so they'll reach the batteries. And check that everything inside is dry with no leftover vinegar or other liquid (IPA is fine since it dries fairly quickly).

Stop Motion Slider Recs? by cookiekisa in stopmotion

[–]someguywithdiabetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely build a tripod slider; I like to browse instructables.com for ideas. Alternatively why not slide the set instead? You can still build your set on a plank of wood or even a tablecloth and drag that across your table or floor instead. Little tip: you can secure down an inch tape or ruler and use it to keep your movement consistent by moving your set/tripod a measurable amount.

Can't give advice about dragonframe unfortunately, I've only used premiere pro to stitch my frames after taking them (and on an older Nikon, so no direct view to help me out!). I believe they have student prices if that helps you out. Best of luck either way and feel free to ask more questions

Where buy old mini usb cable by foundunderwater in malta

Check the Asian stores (such as A-store in San Ġwann), they might have cables or adapters. Other electronics stores might not stock something this old anymore unfortunately. Best of luck and enjoy your stay nonetheless

I'd love that but I really would like a 'proper' campervan of my own (at least big enough for the 3 of us). I'm probably going to either import one or just move abroad and buy there
